This is a great restaurant run by the family that owns it. Great deli, one of the best crab cakes in Atlanta, other great sandwiches, platters, and a warm and friendly atmosphere.

I realize the phrase "the best fried chicken in the city" is overused. But, let me tell you...if the place is not THE BRICKERY, then, that phrase means nothing. \r

We came here tonight for the 1st time. My husband ordered the All You Can Eat Catfish. It was lightly battered, flavorful, and delicious. I ordered the crab cakes, they were awesome! Our server told us that they were 99 % lump crab

Service is great, atmosphere is good and the food is to die for. Great noodle kugle just like New York. Best briskit in town. The restaurant is run like a restaurant should be run with care for it's customers and an emphasis on great food.

Everything in their menu looked simply delicious, it was fun trying out dishes. The service is excellent, they had smiles on their faces even though the lunch crowd was awful. We come back at least once a month.

Thought we'd try The Brickery again. It seems so popular, maybe it's me? Anyways, we waited for a hostess to come up to the front - 5 minutes, waited for a server to come by our table - 10 minutes (and she wasn't our server, as she told us but would deign to take our drink order) then waited another 10 minutes, for our server to come take our order. At this point, we have our bevs, nothing else on the table and no apologies for the wait. The food (2 sandwiches) took another 20 minutes. So, we are 45 minutes into this dining experience (I am NOT exagerating!) and the frustration is making it difficult to enjoy the food, which is ok.
I also noticed other tables looking around for their server and meals as well. No one was getting anything in a timely manner. I guess if you're knocking back a few while you're waiting, it's as good an excuse as any, but, for me it's too aggravating, waiting and wondering what's taking so long and why. Luckily, we didn't need anything else for our meals because the server didn't bother to come by and ask if we were happy.

Oh well, their website mentions casual service but this waaaay too casual for me!

The food has been good since I started going here over ten years ago. Anything you order--app, salad, burger, entree, dessert--is going to be solid. Kids have no problem eating here either. I wish I still lived in the area so I could go more often than once or twice a year. Give it a try if you haven't.

The Brickery is a friendly and great place to eat at a very reasonable rate. You get plenty of good food, cooked the way you like it and the service is super. The owner stops at your table to make sure he meets you and that everything is to your approval. My wife and I have brought guests to the Brickery three times this week and everyone loved the meal. If you are in search of a super place to eat or take out friends, you need to try the Brickery. You will return time and time again. Thank you Bruce Alterman and your staff.

Pros: Best food in Sandy Springs

Delicious hobo soup, hot food....we did start to feel that we were in the twighlight zone or the maytag repair man, after being seated and given menus, we were ignored, a waitress, seeing us sit for 15 minutes, apologized that no one was waiting on us, and got our drinks, after still not hearing from our waitress, the same kind waitress, came back and took our order, this was 30 miutes after we were seated. the table behind us started complaining because they too were being ignored. We then received the order quickly by a different waiter, ignored for any type of follow-up or drink refills, and finally a third waitress brought our bill. I think management did not assign the tables correctly to the wait staff.

Go to the Brickery, and you might wonder why their tables are all full. After dinner you won't wonder why any longer: the food is really good, and the service is excellent! The price is reasonable, too! What more could you want? Thanks Bruce and Sally!

My fiancee and I are always looking for a good burger. Up until recently, the Vortex has been our favorite restaurant for a tasty burger. But a few months ago, one of my friends told me to go to The Brickery and order the Caesar Burger. It was amazing. The Caesar Burger is topped only with lettuce, cheese, and The Brickery's own creamy parmesan caesar dressing. Something so simple and it tastes so good. My fiancee and I love it and here's a tip: order a side of the caesar dressing as a dipping sauce for the fries or onion rings. we still love the Vortex. But the Caesar Burger is one original burger that The Vortex doesn't have.

so glad my fiance discovered this place and took me there. i have gone multiple times and told new people about it each time. the wait staff is extremely helpful and courteous. the food is fantastic and the variety helps a picky eater find something - or try something new with the fun specials that pop up. they offer tons of discounts online to friends (and on facebook) of the place so you know you're in good hands. it seems like they really care about the customer -- something trendy new places seem to forget...

OK so I had the Caesar burger at The Brickery the other day and it was so good I had to post a review to get others to try this taste of goodness. We're talking I wake up 2 days later craving this burger!

The Brickery is a really cool place in Sandy Springs. It's got a very comfortable feel and vibe; it's the kind of place where "everybody knows your name" which is hard to find anymore in Atlanta. The owners are usually there and know a good portion of the customers which is pretty special. I think they've been around for a long time.

The food is unbelievable too, as I understant, everything is made from scratch - I've had the chicken sandwich as well which is not your average chicken sandwich! I have also had the crab cakes which are 100% lump meat - YUM.

The Brickery is a restaurant you really have to try to understand how good it is. I live in Midtown- I'm telling you, The Brickery is WORTH THE TRIP.

Just found this gem a few months ago and can't get enough. We usually order from the daily specials menu because there are so many things on it that we can't find at other restaurants for the same price...osso bucco, penne w/sausage and tomatoes, steak sandwich... Can't wait to go back again and try something else!

If you have not tried The Brickery you should treat yourself to something special. Try something new to
your tastebuds by ordering and devouring the Cesaer Burger for it is awesome. The fried chicken and brisket is also tasty. The chickenpot pie is like nothing you will ever have anywhere else. Did I mention the homemade peach cobbler? We moved to Sandy Springs in October 2007 and discovered this place and it has become a weekly custom to share fellowship with the employees and regular customers. We went in strangers and came out feeling like we had new friends and dare I say an extended family. We are a long way from our roots and our family and this place has been a blessing.

I saw the negative review below and I am convinced that someone has confused this delighted entainment for your tastebuds and your soul with another place. Excellent food and Excellent people.

This restaurant has been open since the early 90s and is still going strong. That means they're doing something right (actually they're doing many things right). The Brickery has been part of my life since high school. I've eaten there on many occasions with friends, family, and even on dates with my (now) husband. I can't remember a time that I've gone to The Brickery without seeing someone that I know. Their food is like 'home cooking' to me in all the best ways. I absolutely love the chicken tenders, brisket & kugel, and soups. I'm not a seafood eater, but am told that the crab cakes are top-notch and will never forget how much my grandmother loved the fried shrimp. In this time of mega-chains that cater to the least common denominator with frozen or prepackaged food, it is nice to know that there is a family-run place in the neighborhood where I can go for fresh, homemade food.

The Brickery makes the top of my list every single time. It's the place I take all of my out-of-town guests, family, etc. I meet friends there for lunch all the time. The place is clean & the service is friendly and personable. Regular customers are greeted by name. Heck, I've even seen the bartender pour a regular's drink before he ordered it. Among my favorites are the beef ribs (only a couple of nights a week), the crab cakes, the phenomenal Caesar burger, and the huge salads. I look forward to reading the folksy emails that include special offers that I get from being on the preferred customer list. Bottom line --- this place consistently exceeds expectations and is worth a visit (or ten).

The Brickery is a terrible place. I would not wish the bad food, dirty restrooms, and inconsiderate employee's on anyone. Despite what the other reviews say, this place will be a waste of your time and therefore your life. It is an all around bad experience. I had the bacon hickory burger and was disgusted. It was smothered in run of the mill, generic hickory bbq sauce. Also, the meat was dry, and the bun soggy. The employee's, despite that it was only four in the afternoon, decided that they should make themselves busy by vacuuming under tables THAT WERE OCCUPIED BY PATRONS!!! Then, I used the restroom, only to find it dirty and grimy with paper towels on the floor, and some kind of liquid by the urinal, that was on the floor. The closest comparison I can think of to it is a restroom at the nasty, no-name gas station that we have all dealt with. And of course, to top it off, they decided to pull the dissapering waitress. We did not see the waitress for the next ten minutes after we had been done for ten minutes anyway. I warn you to avoid this place, because you will be in for an unpleasent surprise if you have seen the great reviews.

The food leaves much to be desired. The green beans were obviously out of a can and the waiter had a hard time recommending items on the menu. My "medium" steak was dry and tasteless. My dining partner also did not like the food. We decided to leave rather than trying alternate dishes - two strikes.

We had the Brickery cater our daughter's naming ceremony earlier this month. The food was fabulous and Sally was extremely easy to work with! We didn't want the "traditional" brunch food, and she made sure that the menu was to our taste - mini fried chicken drumettes, angel hair kugel, poached salmon, bruschetta, sweets, etc. The staff arrived on time and were completely professional, efficient, and attentive. They even made sure to check in with my husband and me to be sure that we had gotten something to eat and drink because they knew it was very possible that we wouldn't have gotten a chance to do so. At the end of the event, they cleaned everything up and left clearly labeled leftovers in our fridge. We didn't even need to sweep the kitchen floor! I would highly recommend Brickery Catering and will definitely use them again!

Pros: excellent food, prompt and attentive servers

I recently chose the Brickery to host our informal wedding rehearsal dinner. They did a great job in typing up a special menu, and accommodating my party. Everyone raved about the ribs & peach cobbler.

It was very affordable, and Bruce and Sally attended to the small details that made the event very nice.

Great place to eat - lots of food for the $$. They're friendly and helpful and the owners are on-site. You must try the Caesar Burger. I can honestly say that it's delicious and addictive! They also have a 'preferred customer' email and send weekly specials good only for those on the list.

This place has an incredible 16 oz angus strip. Trust me... you want to try it. Their fries are good... burgers are good (my personal favorite is the hickory bacon burger)... Oh and a "turtle pie" for dessert is delicious.
