Impossible to get through. Have left 2 messages and still no call back. Call one day over 150 times before I finally got to voice mail, still no call back. My understanding is they see 25 patients a week, that's 5 patients a day if they're open, and they don't take walk-ins. I'm moving on. They may have great service, but you'll never find out if you can't get through to them.
Just like any other facility that claims to help people...... they may help SOME people but, I've only experienced rudeness and very short almost sarcastic responses with questions I have had.
The Operator (from option 0 on phone) is one of the rudest I've ever dealt with. There is a young lady that sits at desk in afternoon who is extremely nice and does actually does everything she can to help but as for the others, well to be nice I will say they are severely lacking in proper communication skills.
We, who are without resources or income are generally subjected to this type of attitude, one thing is for sure. If you can get an appt DO NOT CHANGE IT OR RESCHEDULE IT..... they will make you wait for MONTHS to get another appointment. They claim they do not have a dentist available for appointments but have several others who are steadily going back and forth seeing the Dentist.
They tell you NOT to call and that they will call you when they have one available. However, I waited almost 3 months and called them and got an appointment only 5 days away. So, I cannot help but wonder who regulates/supervises this office staff???
Its bad enough that we have to go through an enormous amount of paperwork to just get approved to be seen at the clinic but then you have office personnel that seems to enjoy making it more and more difficult for you to be seen.
Overall, this would be a great place if the front office staff was replaced with the exception of 1 or 2. I wound up having to sell my car in order to get some dental work done as I am STILL waiting for them to call me back for an appointment.
Thank you again to the young lady that is usually there around 1pm at front check-in you are the greatest!!!! Wish your co-workers would take lessons from you!!!
I am low income and a cancer survivor. I called several times only to keep getting a recording telling me to leave a message and a call back would be given. After about 3 months of continuous pain, I decided to go directly to the office. Upon arrival I was instructed to call and leave a message on the machine. I told them that I had already done that 3 months ago. I was given a form to fill out and was told that someone would definately call me and to be patient. Im still waiting and still no call after 1 year now. Im so affraid that my dental issues will trigger a relapse of my cancer. I can't afford to go to a dentist and pay. I only need 3 extractions and I have no idea where to turn. I went to the hospital for an absess and they gave me an antibiotic and told me to see a dentist. Well, Im trying but no one wants to help you if you don't have money. Any suggestions people of our country?
I agree that is takes a long time for them to respond. I have been trying since May 2009. I checked their website and it state that if you let a message by 5pm 01/29/10 them someone will call you in the following weeks. It is now 05/12/2010 and still I have had no response. They are looking for more dentist to volunteer. In the meantime we a forced to look elsewhere. I don't think it is fair to give them a low rating because they have not called us back. With so many people out of work like myself, I can imagine that their case load has picked up. They are not they only place that is not returning phone calls. Very few dentist offices do what they do for the community and from what I hear their service is very good. I hope we get a call back soon. Good luck.
I have been referring patients to the Ben Massell Dental Clininc for years now. They serve the homeless, working poor, uninsured and those on disability based on income-based eligibility. They provide a wide range of dental and orthodontic services with the smallest fees imaginable ($2 for regular care and $5 for orthodontic services). They serve adutls and children. I have consistently gotten positive feedback about the quality of work they do, the timely appointments they provide and caring attitude of the staff.
PROS: Well-trained, compassionate, profession
CONS: none at all
