Everything HORRIBLE that can be said about this place is completely true!!! Live here if you want to be near the LOWEST of the LOW in Athens, not to mention Gainesville State retards!! Idiotic and loud (the kind to play DRUMS randomly at 3am, 9am, and 6pm on a TUES!!!)

As I saw perfectly quoted in a review on ApartmentRatings.com:

"Polo Club spends more money on the pool, lounge, and model units than the apartments themselves. Nothing is finished particularly well. Lots of cracks and gaps in everything. The front and patio doors have giant gaps in the frames through which all manner of creepy crawly will happily shimmy through. You would not believe the size of the roaches that crawl through the door frames. The lock on our front door was terribly loose when we moved in. I felt like I had to sit on the management's neck just to get it fixed. To me, this is a safety issue; there's only one lock on the door, you really can't afford for it not to work right."

I had the exact same problem. At times in the middle of night or early morning, I would come out of my room to find the front door WIDE open!!! Polo Club a ghetto DUMP and that was not even worth half of my $325/mth. I NEVER went barefoot on the carpet much less anywhere else in that matter! Decades of disgusting MYSTERY STAINS everywhere...that they make YOU PAY for cleaning up if all of your roommates are the LAST TO MOVE OUT completely. That's right, that means only the LAST tenants moving out all at once are responsible for ALL the fees (and prior cleaning! yes, these people make you clean and have the nerve to still find something to charge!!) regardless of how many people occupied the rooms before you!!!

No grace period for rent!!! $25-30/DAY late fee! Most places give you a 4-5/day period...

The creepy maintenance men would knock loudly on my door, then 2 seconds later they've already barged into my apartment to "check" something. One even had the audacity to open my room door and peek in while I was napping! What if I was naked?!?!!

There's SOOO much more I could go on to rant about this absolute wasteland but it would never end...do yourself a favor and NEVER SIGN WITH POLO CLUB unless you want your mental state, mood, general tolerance for people and even ***GRADES*** to suffer due to the tremendously negative impact this place will have on your college experience. I despised coming home everyday for almost a year and could literally feel my heart race and blood almost boil with the extreme annoyance and hatred I felt every second I was here!

The monthly rental is one of the lowest in town. However, the service, maintenance, office personnel is extremely poor. My apartment had a water leak that was not repaired for 2 months. The office staff is not easy to work with. There focus is not on maintaining long term leases. There attitude is " If you do not like it at Polo Club go some place else. We can find another naive person to rent from us."

If you chose to live at the Polo Club you will move out after your 1st year. On move out day make sure to receive in writing that you have a zero balance. I had a clean move out inspection and was told my balance was $0.00. Two weeks later I received a bill from Polo Club stating I had a balance due.

Renter beware.

Pros: Low cost

Cons: They re-coup the low cost with poor service, and collection of fines
