I highly recomend Dr. Padgett, to anyone who really cares about there animal. Not only is he one of the best at what he does, he cares, and thats what makes him good. I have used him several times, and was more than pleased when I left. I had a 90Lb Bulldog who got parvo at 1 yr old. I took him to a vet {not going to say the name of him but he works in baxley} they said he had a virus and sent him home. Finally after the 7th day of him not eating and getting better I couldnt take it anymore. I new I had to do something or i was going to lose him. I took him to Dr. padgett and him took him right back, heighted him, {he had losest over 20 lbs in 7 days} did blood work, which was not even mentioned at the other vets office. Come to find out that vet didnt even do a parvo test when they told me they did!! I had to wait a couple of hrs for the blood work to come back, but there was no problem with that as long as I could save my dog, and guess what, Slugo is now 6 yrs old and do just fine, Next trip to padgett was for Lexi, a bulldog puppy i would on the side of the road, she had red mange, but padgett got her over it and she was fine for yrs. Sorry to say she was hit by a car yrs later. Next trip, was for Maggie, a dog i found a flash foods parking lot in baxley, she was the best dog i have ever had, she was very old and had no teeth, I had her for about 4 hrs finally in th end she died of heart congestion, but padgett had it comfortable for her to say at home with me till she died. Next was Sally, a white english was had to had but to sleep because of heart worms, god me and my husband was a mess that day, we came running in there and they took us right back, we knew on the way there what had to be done and cried the whole time. I have never felt such empathy from a vets office. the whole staff have to have hearts of gold. I thought they was going to start to cry with us. Padgett made it calm for her and fast, and thats what we wanted, I have never seen people like this people before!! I will ONLY use the loving and caring and smart Dr.Padgett!!!!

Hello Everyone!
My Husband and I Highly Recommend Padgett Vet Hospital.
We live in Hazlehurst, Ga. and that's the office we take our pets to.
If you have pets, This is the Only Place to bring them for the Very Best Professional, Knowledgable and Courteious Care. Dr. Padgett and his Staff are First Rate All the way.
We have a Pekingese that we got from a So-Called Reputable Breeder in Lyons, Ga. This Poor Pup had Red Mange passed along from his mom. Dr. Padgett and his Staff treated Little Max like Thier Very Own administering the Very Best and Compassionate Care. We're Pleased to say that today Sir Maxwell Mulligan is a Happy, Healthy Pekingese! We have another dog, a Border Collie, that we Rescued in Baxley, Georgia. Her owners had moved away and left her and her pup in Over 100 degree weather with No Food or Water. She was living under the foundation of the house when we found her. We found a Great Home for her pup and took her to live with us. We named her Mattie-Mae. We took Mattie-Mae to Dr. Padgett to get her shots and checked out. Unfortunately, she had Heartworm, the Poor girl :( Dr. Padgett Immediately Started Heartworm Treatment. She had to stay there Overnight which just broke our hearts as she was a part of our family and we Missed her Terribly. The Dr. and his Staff took The Very Best Care of her tending to her and treating her like their Very Own.
Today Mattie-May is Heartworm Free~they Literally Saved her life too! We will be Forever Gratefull to Dr. Padgett and his Staff for their Exceptional Care of Our Beloved Pets! Please Don't Trust the Safety and Well-being of Your Pet to Just Any Vet~Even if they're Cheaper! They Deserve The Very Best~Dr. Padgett and Staff.

Dr. Padgett and his staff are caring and knowledgeable. My first experience with them was with an emergency surgery for my favorite cat, who had been snared in a careless hunter's coon trap. Even though I wasn't a client, they took her right in and gave my pet superior care. Now, they treat all my animals, and I wouldn't have it any other way. Their professionalism is surpassed only by their love for animals. Highly recommended!

No case by case review is fair to any DVM. Their dedication and ability is evident by their many years of practice. Few of us appreciate their long days of surgery, missed family functions for emergencies, and their unrelenting effort to never give up on a case. No Veterinarian goes into practice for the money, I'd much rather be in a human hospital delivery room with a sterile staff instead of standing in a 19 F degree mud puddle with my armpit up a cows birth canal trying to pull a 25 lb calf with my shirt off. No, I'm not a Veterinarian, I've worked for a few.

I agree with another poster that Edith is a nut job. Dr. Padgett and his staff are very competent.Dr. Padgett has doctored pets for us for many years and we've never ever had a problem. He's honest and will go the extra mile for his patients. We've called him at 2:00 a.m.and he came to our home right away to doctor a broken leg on our horse. So....don't believe anything negative you may hear about Craig Padgett.

I appreciate Dr. Padgett and his staffs competence and caring attitude. Dr. Padgett operated on my greyhound's severely broken leg. She is walking today due to his competence. He has vetted my daughter's cat and my four dogs. He has been our vet for nine years. We completely trust him to make the best decisions concerning our fur family. My greyhound also loves the staff and looks forward to them greeting her on her visits. I feel very fortunate to have my pets in Dr. Padgett's care.

I have 5 dogs and 2 cats that have been under Dr. Padgett's care for several years now. I think that he is a very caring and competent vet, and he and his staff are genuinely concerned about their patients. One of my cats was badly injured and very sick when we found him as a stray. My dog Jack, another rescue animal, was very sick with heatworms when we took him in. Dr Padgett's care saved both of them.

I was shocked when I read the review of Padgett Veterinary Service by Edith H. Dr. Padgett is the most knowledgeable and caring DVM I have ever had the privilege to know. Over the last 48 years I've had at least 9 pooches and visited at least that many Vet's from Florida to NC to Georgia and Dr. Padgett has far exceeded them all. I just couldn't help but checking Edith H.'s link..on Feb 07, '06 (the date of her review of Dr. Padgett) she sat at her computer and wrote 5 reviews from 8:36 to 9:22 in the evening...boy she was bangin' 'em out. Now I don't now about the rest of you as for me though, I don't have the time, energy or inclination for such activities. I think ole' Edith H. is some kind of a Nut Job' or has a 'chip on her shoulder' and ought to get a life. In case any of you are wondering...this is the first 'Review' I've ever written and I joined 'insiderpages' just before I wrote this review for the sole purpose of setting the record straight about Dr. Padgett!

I just read a review about this great vet and I cannot help but wonder what would make someone say anything negatvie about him. My family and I have several pets and we all love Dr. Padgett and his staff. Our animals are wonderfully taken care of. I feel very comfortable leaving my beloved pets in his care and I cannot imagine how anyone could believe he would do anything outside of the best interest of any animal.

Don't take your pets here if you care about them. Dr. Padgett does not care about animals or what is in the animal's best interest. He is all about money and he's not terribly competent. Several animals have died while in his care after undergoing routine procedures. Bottom line is, he is ok to go to if you are just getting your pet vaccinated or something like that but he is no good in an emergency and whatever you do don't let him operate on your pet.
