This is a great restaurant
The BBQ ribs are the best I have ever eaten, always consistent and I love the sauce.
I have owned 4 restaurants over the years and have to say, this is one of the best.
I go here about twice a week, no kidding, I

When my grandmother came to town recently, we spent an afternoon at Folks, reminiscing and enjoying a great Southern meal that was almost as good as my grandma's cooking. The food was delicious and the staff was very patient. There were nine of us who spent over two hours here and we did not feel rushed one bit. Our waitress helped us relax and enjoy each other's company and our meal.

Update (5-1-2008): Returned here for Thanksgiving in 2006 and the whole place had changed. The food wasn't up to par with my experience in the past and the service was no longer the impressive upbeat hospitality that I remembered. I no longer feel compelled to rave about the restaurant or to think of Folks for Thanksgiving Day dinner as an option. Oh, and the pie didn't come with my dinner this time either as the original special included two years prior.

Original (Post 11-24-2004): This restaurant appears to be a take off of the Cracker Barrel Country store restaurants, but without the country store. The menu has a full variety to offer and I have yet to try anything that was not very good. I also find that the portions are a little more than you find at the other restaurant. Now, I like the Cracker Barrel Restaurants, but they do have certain tendencies such as, the food rarely arrives at anything more than luke-warm, the quality and portions can vary greatly from one geographic location to the next. With Folks Southern Kitchen, the food has always been piping hot and fresh. I was lucky enough to be at this particular location on Thanksgiving Day and its first time to be open on that Holiday. I must say the dinner was very good.

Pros: Southern cooking

Cons: Original quality of food and service has declined over the years since atleast 2004.
