I will miss the Dutch-Indonesian aisle. The items from this aisle are not as common as Chinese, Japanese, Filipino, or Korean items are here in Hawaii. Indonesian soy sauce is different...thick and sweet....good for BBQ. Used to buy Indo items at Mapunapuna, then moved to San Diego where 99 Ranch still exists. So sad to come back here and it's gone. Don't know where to go for Dutch-Indo supplies.

The latest news is that 99 Ranch Supermarket is closing at the end of February 2007. What a shame. It is the only supermarket that sells Chinese food items in Hawaii. Now we will have to go to the traditional market in Chinatown. The sea food department is the best. They clean and fry the fish for you for free. The produce department does not have as much selections lately, probably because the business has not been good so they cannot stock too much produce. I used to go every month even though I live in Waikiki. It will be dearly missed.

This is an Asian store, that of course sells Asian products. A lot of their stuff is from Japan but they also have some stuff from Korea and China. The stuff is pretty good and most its hard to find elsewhere. The prices are fairly reasonable and all taste very good. They also sell fresh produce among other things.

An extra is that they have an entire food court right outside the store. They sell sushi, plate lunch, bentos, and smoothies. Definitely a place to check out.

There is everything in this building. There is a nail salon, eateries, clothing shop, game room, photography and more along with a big screen T.V. for all the men that hate to shop. The market itself is kind of smelly because of the fish department. But worth going because things especially produce are cheap. I would go to the swapt meet or farmers markets to buy produce but why walk in the hot sun when you can get it for the same price here.

Ranch 99 Market, located in Mapunapuna, has a wide selection of Asian groceries. They also have what I have found to be one of the best seafood departments in the State. And their prices just can't be beat. Don't shop Friday afternoons or you will be fighting the hoardes for the best finds.

PROS: Great seafood at great prices
CONS:

99 Ranch has more than you could every ask for. They offer everything under the sun and really good prices! I was very happy with how polite all of the employees in the store were to me as I asked many questions as too where items were located in the store.
