I'm so glad to have the opportunity to say thank you to the fine folks at Cathy George & Associates. On several occasions I needed both short and long term rentals for myself and family members during a difficult time and I can tell you I've never been so taken care of before. Everyone in the office is delightful, every call answered and handled... just the best. We now know what aloha is all about thanks to these great folks. This property manager is down right unethical and unfair and irresponsible. Cathy George will not accept any responsibility what so ever for her or her employees shortcomings. I experienced this first hand as I leased a "high end property" from them. We had notified them that after 8 months that we were to terminate this lease. They instructed us to give 28days of notice, then forgot about us. At the end of the 28 days we discovered that NO effort was done to advertise the property. We had even received correspondence that the property was being advertised. She then claims that we are still responsible for the rent and refuses to give our $2200.00 deposit back.
What is the job of the property manager anyway and why are we subjected to their failure to perform their jobs properly. Cathy George herself had no knowledge of her employees actions or lack there of. She had to be called frequently to get any answers and was down right inflexible! As a property owner I would beware of this company to manage my "high end property."

We would like to report a particularly bad story that we experienced
in the house we rented under a contract with the real estate
"Cathy George & Associates". This house was located in the Sierra
Drive area of Honolulu, a location that we chose for its supposedly
quietness. Our place was really gorgious, except that the building also had an
additional studio attached to the unit (below our kitchen) and that
was not part of the rent. This place was occupied by the owners' son, and our relationships with this person quickly turned out to
be a nightmare. Slaming his doors constantly throughout the day, the
guy was extremely noisy (he even brought to his place
an electric guitar) and smoked illegal stuff below our window several time per
week. We even witnessed the coming of "atypical" people (likely
dealers) to our parking area, which progressively gave us a bad
feeling of insecurity. We mentioned this problem to our contact person
at "Cathy George" We thought that paying our rent of 3200$
every month on time would likely give us the right to deserve a
minimum of respect from our neighbor, as well as a minimum of peace in
this place. On the contrary the consequence of our complain came as a
shock: as we were just getting to the end of our 6 month-lease agreement, the
later was not renewed. In addition to a bad impression to have
suffered of race discrimination from our real estate contact person at
the beginning of our lease contract (a story that we did report to the
"Fair Housing"), we got the feeling that no effort
was done on their side to help us with this terrible situation (most of our
phone calls and emails were not returned). Above all, through
this story it became obvious to us that "Cathy George and Associates"
do not seem to bother working with property owners who deliberately
override the laws imposed by the state (e.g. the owners showed up a few times at our place without any notice contrary to what was stated in our contract).
