My wife and I went there around 7 on a monday night right before the flight back home. We only had about 1.5 hours to eat. It was obvious that the kitchen was backed up. Several diners around us were complaining about the food taking so long and it took our waiter 10 minutes just to get us water. I decided not to take the chance and just ordered the fondue appetizer for two. The waiter said since we are not ordering entrees he would like us to sit at the bar. I told him I was afraid the wait would be too long if we ordered entrees and preferred to stay at the table. He got upset and went to the hostess and then disappeared. The hostess told us we needed to sit at the bar. I told her it is not our fault their kitchen was backed up and we left. The experience left a stain on our trip. It was a horrible ending to a wonderful vacation.

Being local to the island we take a lot of time trying out new restaurants and came across Top of Waikiki in a local advertisement.

We originally went there for the atmosphere of a rotating restaurant and were surprised to find it was the fully package at a reasonable price.

The view is great, especially at night overlooking Waikiki and Diamond Head. The top rotates very slowly and the atmosphere is very chic. I had a steak dinner and my girlfriend was a vegetarian and they made a special dish for her. The service was outstanding and the meal was amazing! All of this for the same price as a dinner at the Cheesecake Factory. We recommend this restaurant to all of our friends visiting the island.

I have dined at Top of Waikiki several times and can't get enough of the place. It is a revolving restaurant with a breathtaking view of Waikiki. You can also see Diamondhead. The food was fabulous and just melted in my mouth. They also have a different flavor butter, each time I have gone, for the variety of bread they serve. Which I love! I have tried something different each time and have not been disappointed. The service was exceptional as well. I highly recommend you try it out.

The food was so good! The wait staff very friendly. The bartender needs a little more training. (in making margaritas; it was the worst I have ever had, unless you like shaved ice.) But overall, a very nice experience.

My family and I love to travel and love to eat (we consider ourselves "Food Enthusiasts"). We actually stumbled upon Top of Waikiki. We noticed the huge Space needle with Christmas lights in the middle of Waikiki, so we decided to check it out and low and behold it was a rotating restaurant.

We decided to give it a go and man were we please. The food and the sunset there was absolutely amazing.

We started the night out with the California Roll (it was unique in the fact that is was a tower of sushi and it was amazing). We also sampled the Coconut Shrimp: and let me tell you that one could literally taste the shaving of coconut ---- Fantastic)

For the entree I ordered the Lamb 3 Ways and.... WOW. It was served on this very round and narrow plate and it was literally prepared 3 different ways: Lamb chops, Osso Bucco, and I cannot remember the final preparation. My wife had the Shrimp and Grits. I asked her how it was and she jokingly said: it's like a huge fiesta in my mouth (I had to put that quote in cause I thought it was pretty clever). My son had the Cheeseburger Wellington. I was skeptical @ first, but when I tasted it I was stunned @ how juicy the center was and the puff pastry around it really made it taste like a dessert. My daughter ordered The Fish special, it was very tasty as well, what made it even better was the price ($22) for an entire plate of Mahi.

We were so stuffed for dinner, but decided to fatten ourselves even more with the dessert. We ended up getting the Fondue 4 Two: Strawberries, poundcake, whipped cream, and melted chocolate, hmmmm. We also decided to sample the Dulce De Leche Cheesecake and I will tell you that the cake just melts in your mouth.

We will most definitely be back to this restaurant in 2010 (that is our scheduled return)

Keep up the good work Top of Waikiki

Amazing. Just amazing fine dining on the top of the Waikiki Business plaza. It is a revolving 360 degree dining room. The food is wonderful and the views are breathtaking. I recommend the scallops!

First off, I was definitely looking forward to this meal. It was my "special" meal of the visit as I knew it would be pricier and I was craving fish. The description of the fish special (blackened ahi) made it my choice. I ended up having the tenderloin on a hot rock as an appetizer and the blackened ahi as my main dish. The ahi was supposed to be seared (basically raw inside), which is exactly how I like it.

The asiago sourdough rolls with mango and fig butter were amazing. The duo went well together and the servers were quick to bring another roll around.

The tenderloin was very good and a pretty sizeable portion. It was presented well and was fun to eat - sometimes you had to place your slice of meat back on the rock to cook it a bit. I was by myself, but this would have been lots of fun with another person.

Needless to say, I was excited for the ahi. Unfortunately, I was pretty disappointed. Instead of being seared it was almost cooked. It was a weird inbetween - not just seared and not quite cooked so it was flaky. The cut was ok and gave you enough to be full, especially with the purple mashed veggie they served the ahi on. The seasoning rub was a little too peppery. I like spicey, but this was too much of one spice and ended up being a little too much at the end. I saw other people's dishes (steak and lobster) and they looked like much better options.

My waiter was attentive and nice. He realized I probably didn't want too much attention as I was alone, but made sure I never wanted for anything. The view is the novelty. It's a revolving restaurant, so you get a 360 degree view of Wai'ki'ki. I was there for about 45 minutes to an hour and I think I saw most of the 360 degrees. I'm not sure how long it would take to complete a revolution.

Overall, I personally wouldn't return. The novelty is good once, but I ended up paying 50 dollars for a meal I wasn't quite satisfied with. Maybe the meat is better.
