I AM TIKI'S #1 FAN !!! Need I say more? You will feel comfortable in shorts & flip flops, or a nice dress & heels. Tiki's is set up fabulously, with a slightly more formal dining room, altho my brother & I were there in shorts & felt & looked just fine, after all, you're in Hawaii! The Lanai has probably one of the most spectacular views, even better in my opinion than Duke's right down the Rd because you are on the 2nd floor, so you're seeing everything. The food & drinks are fairly reasonable, & if there's anything that spooks you price wise, it will surely make up for in flavor! The staff is fabulous, management great, locals are awesome (Mr.Knudsen), I just can't say enough about the entire place! So go & enjoy!

I worked at Tiki's in 2003-04 and it was great. The chef and pastry chef were amazing and management was fantastic. Everyone was proud to be part of such a great restaurant. I moved to the mainland (cont. U.S.) in '04 but looked forward to returning to Tikis for a great meal with each visit home. In a visit home only a month ago, I dragged my mother and brother to the restaurant for dinner. I was disappointed and disgusted to find out how much Tikis had gone downhill. The service was below average and the menu had not only eliminated the best appetizers and entrees but the few that they had kept on the menu were not nearly the quality they used to be. The decline of this restaurant saddens me because I used to recommend this place to EVERYONE I knew and now I feel compelled to recommend people NOT to go.

at night there is a "one man band" playing acoustic and singing songs from many genres. he is quite entertaining. sitting on the patio with the beach in the background and tiki torches lit up, makes it relaxing. the servers were friendly and prompt with our beers. i enjoyed the calamari appetizer. the mahi mahi dinner was good, but i would have preferred different sides.

Pros: Ambience/Good for relaxing and having a beer

Cons: Closes at midnight

Nobody loves a tiki bar more than I do, so I emailed a month in advance requesting a special birthday reservation. Promised a great table, kukui nut leis & birthday tiramisu.

Horrible table between very loud kitchen and two tables of crying kids. Can't blame the restaraunt for the kids - but this wasn't the special table I'd been promised. Complained to waiter who didn't know what to do about it. Finally grabbed a manager and got a quieter table.

Drinks were overpriced and not that good, food was very good. Desert time came and we asked about the birthday special - and were told they only had one option and it was too big for our group of 3.

Our second waiter was better than our first, but neither one of them seemed to care too much about customer service. And the leis never materialized.

A few days later we hit Trader Vic's on the big island - much more satisfying experience.

Tiki's is a bad and insulting joke to Hawaii. After ordering the Sea Bass special, which was dry, dull, and 30 dollars, I asked the manager what the vision of the restaurant was. "Stephanie" claimed the vision of the restaurant was to provide "memorable guest experiences at a reasonable price." Aside from being incredibly rude and condescending, Stephanie was right in only one respect: a memorable guest experience. My memorable experience consisted of a horrible, pompous server, "Matt," an overpriced dinner, and a nauseating feeling that this place is on the decline. The chairs were falling apart, the table was not straight, the silverware was filthy, and the staff was clearly miserable down to the management. Stay away from this place.

I"ve been here a few times, and every time I walk away happy. The staff is always friendly, the food as always been delicious, and their desserts are SO good! It's on the top floor of the Aston Waikiki, overlooking the beach.

This restraunte was reccomended to us by a friend. We had an AWSOME waiter who made our visit a pleasure. The meals were outstanding! Remember to save room for the desserts! They are out of this world!
