First of all. I originally went to Watanabe Floral and was not provided with much to go on and the girl I talked with was not very pleasant.
On the other hand, the guy at Rainforest was super knowledgeable and gave me a lot of options and insights as to possible scenarios and even provided me with images he emailed to me about possible floral mages, which made deciding very difficult (but in a good way). I don't recall his name but he was the handsome Asian man that was both funny and serious at the same time. He made me feel comfortable and we laughed a few times. He had suggested that I can also look at many of the upcoming plant sales to seek out specialty growers who might be able to supply me with cuttings and tips for my event. His knowledge about cutting and how they'd stretch if left in a particular manner was invaluable. as I did seek these sources, which by the way, every one of them knew this guy and gave me rave reviews of how talented and fastidious in the way he worked.
I did buy a few from these growers and the guy at rainforest was right, many of the ones he suggested all stretched and lost their compact rose shapes and resembled celery sticks by the end of the week. This was a good experience for me and anyone who thinks they can do it yourself.
I ended up allowing the designer at rainforest to create everything and while it seemed pricey what we got at the end was just perfect. The bride and bride's mother all commented on how grand these arrangements, pew decorations and bouquets were. One of my aunties also told me that many of the succulents that was used was no ordinary cheapy stuff, that she wanted any cuttings of anything that was going to be left. She even told me that she paid ten dollars for a small cutting of the type he used in the decorations, and reception pieces, that even the guests all begged for them afterwards. The colors and forms were spectacular! Many of the jades and leafy succulents were also variegated colored types and rivaled the actual flowers set in between them.
Overall the staff at rainforest was very courteous and the people setting things up were very accommodating and the bride's mother made a few last minute changes with the guy just being polite and doing his best to get things right.
I must say, to try Rainforest, the guy was friendly, knowledgeable and gave me a lot of information you just can't find online or in magazines.

This is a review that is well over due. I have been ordering flowers from Rainforest since it began in the 1980's. I have watched as they have developed their craft and can truly say that they are possibly the BEST florist in Honolulu. I have always been amazed at what they can create and are constantly reinventing their designs so you never get the same arrangement twice.
I am writing because of another reviewer giving them a one star rating. This is just unfair. Their service has always been incredible and outright amazing! Rainforest has been a leader in directing how designs are done and have influenced so many other designers how to prefect their craft. Everywhere you go, just ask who's the best florist and you'll definitely get a referral to Rainforest. Their quality and service is commendable and orders sent out fast and freshly made. You can never argue about the freshness of their flowers. The longest flower arrangements come from Rainforest.

After experiencing really bad customer service at another establishment. I just had to write how refreshing and wonderful that Rainforest is. Their staff is friendly and helpful even when not making a sale. Always greeting you with a warm welcome and smile.
Some people say that they are somewhat pricey, I don't believe it. I would pay for an item slightly higher because of their excellent reputation and customer service, than to buy something at bargain basement prices with no customer service. You decide. Save ten bucks and walk away just OK or spend the extra ten and feel good about your purchase. I just have to say please support this store as we need more establishments with good customer service than stores of no customer service.
And their flowers are fresh and wonderful too!

I received the most stunning arrangement I have ever seen with flowers that lasted well over two weeks and every person who stepped into my office was drawn to it and asked me "where did this come from?" When I replied Rainforest, they would say, "Of course, because they're the best on the island!"
I have since use Rainforest about three times and for each order over the phone, the salesperson was polite, friendly, adding humor to the ordering process (which made me feel relaxed ) and having excellent customer service.
Now most florists I have ordered from in the past have been trite and it appeared that they were annoyed when I called on the phone for a phone order. But the folks at Rainforest was very customer oriented and made me feel comforted and brought me in as part of the floral experience. Not only was I emailed for the notification of the time and who signed for the flowers, but also received an image of the arrangement itself. I felt like they were just treating me extra special, but probably do this for all their customers.
The order taker was very knowledgeable and explained many of the flowers that were available (many I have never ever heard of) so I usually left the design up to them. I have since been showered with praises and constant gratitude from people I sent flowers to even months since I have sent it to them. I sure got my money's worth from this.
Their minimum is $85, but I think it's a deal because this price is the price charged to me. It includes all their excellent care to alert me of the delivery status and even send me an arrangement of the flowers I sent. The photos are excellent quality and even with notes from the delivery and items included in the arrangement.
I think FTD, 1-800-FLOWERS could learn a lot from this cutting edge florist!

I have just recently discovered Rainforest. For many years I have been hearing nice things about them but until recently after receiving numerous flowers from several of Oahu's florists, I finally an see the difference.
I have received two outstanding flower arrangements from Rainforest. each one unique and distinct in its own way. The first was a beautiful European arrangement with peonies, garden roses and beautiful lilies. I have received a similar piece from Watanabe florist, but unfortunately, it lasted just a few days. I finally threw out the European bouquet from Rainforest after lasting very well for over twenty days! I also received a beautiful arrangement from Florist Grand but that too lasted for only a couple of days and when I called them about it, they replied that I didn't water it enough. Two days and it fell apart and wilted. If anyone asked me, I would say that it was already on its last leg. I treated all the flower arrangements the same and the ones from Rainforest far outlasted most arrangements I received elsewhere.
Since I have had a chance to compare the many florists side by side, I am definitely a Rainforest fan. Their containers were attractive, handwritten card legible and with correct spelling (Watanabe Florist spelled my name so very wrong) and I received high praise from everyone who saw them.
I have visited Rainforest and was amazed at how friendly their staff was. They made sure I was alright and if I had any questions. They called upon their designer with specific questions I wanted to know about and didn't get any eye-rolling gestures that my questions were stupid. I have been to other florists and made fun of for not knowing about some flowers peculiarities.ould I need some assistance. Their designer looked extremely busy, yet took time to come over and answer some questions that I really appreciated. I didn't buy anything on that visit, but I got all my questions answered and they were so helpful and friendly nonetheless. This is where I will shop and have shopped since.
This has got to be the best florist around!

I have been looking for a florist I can trust with excellent customer service and know that my money is being spent wisely. In today's economy, we tend to be a little more prudent about how our money is used. I have used Rainforest three different instances and have to say that their customer service is unexcelled and you actually get to see what was sent to the person you're sending flowers to. They are prompt and follow up on all aspects and details pertaining to your order. I have been complimented by the people I have sent flowers to with high acclaim and totally trust their designers to do the best arrangement for me. I just leave it in their hands and wait for the thanks and praises from the people I send these to.
Rainforest has really made flower ordering a treat and pleasure again. I look forward for another excuse to use their services.

All I can say is "WOW!". I was the recipient of the most beautiful arrangement ever! Rainforest at Kilohana Square is my florist from now on. I've never received a more beautiful and unique arrangement such as the one I recently received. The flowers are so fresh and beautifully arranged. All of the people who have seen the arrangement seem to know that it's from RAINFOREST. I've told all of my friends and relatives that if they are ever sending me flowers, it has got to be from Rainforest at Kilohana Square. Believe me, they're the BEST!

You cannot deny it, Rainforest has the best, freshest flowers in the state! If you don't like carnations, baby's breath and mums like so many of us, you gotta give them a try. Clean clear glass vases, the most classiest flowers, with the best service.
Highly recommend their speedy service and prompt order to deliver rate. Try stopping in, they have a lot of things you do not see in a delivered arrangement. Unusual plants, cutflowers for graves, things to take to a party, a small thank you arrangement or roses and leis wrapped in ti leaves. How dramatic is that?
The important thing is that they are listed as being in Ward Warehouse. They are NOT at Ward Warehouse and is located on Kapahulu Avenue in the Kilohana Square.
Phone number is 738-0999 and website: rainforesthawaii.
Highly recommended.

Michael and his staff have always surpassed my expectations when ordering flowers for my family and friends. Flowers are such a part of the landscape here in Hawaii, it's hard not to take them for granted. The folks at Rainforest have always created unique arrangements for me by mixing various types of flowers from around the globe to help me once again appreciate the things I see everyday.

If you want a really special lei for someone, spend a couple of dollars more and have Michael make one for you. They have great potted plants too. If you want cheap flowers, don't bother with Rainforest. My past experience has been that every dollar that I have spent in the past at Rainforest has produced the results that I wanted.

They have MOVED though so be sure to call and get the new address. They are not at Ward Warehouse any longer. They are in Kilohana Square close to Waikiki and Kahala.
