I was staying at the Waikiki Beachside Hostel for about one week. Everyone was exceptional and professional. I am 58 years of age and my husband is 59. The days were very interesting and met a lot of foreigners from all over the globe. The staff was so nice and always show courtesy, and professionalism about the hostel and also where to go for something to eat, go back to the airport and which is the cheapest way of doing just about anything. The knowledge of the staff members were very wonderful and so enthusiastic. My stay was world class and will return back to the hostel whenever I come back to Honolulu. Yes I would recommend anyone to come to the hostel.Aloha and mahalo, Lillian Cline and family

I tried to pay for our whole stay .. all at once so I could have it out of the way for our vacation. I went down to pay and they had given my room away and I was there at 4 pm. The guy said it was to be paid for by 6... also the place is very dirty. I had to get a hold of my son there and the guy behind the counter would not get him or let me get him.. I had to get a manager... The whole place is a joke. I had to go down the street and get us other rooms at a different Hostel. and it was great!!

I was attending a conference at the Hilton Hawaii Village but decided to find more economical accomodation for the 8 days. My buddy and I found Waikiki Beachside Hostel which offered a semi-private room for only $75 a night compared to Hilton's $200+.

Having never stayed at a hostel I was not expecting much at all. Thankfully I was pleasantly surprised. It was relatively clean, quiet enough at nights and most importantly it was less than 2mins walk to the beach.

Frontdesk staff were very helpful and friendly. If you are looking for a great location, the ability to meet other travellers from around the world at an affordable price I definitely recommend Waikiki Beachside Hostel.

This hostel is by no means a nice place to stay, but location is key! The rooms are generally clean and very minimal and you can request units with air conditioning. We stayed in a room that shares a bathroom with one other room, but they also have bunk rooms that house many more people for even cheaper.

The best part is that it is only 2 blocks from the beach in a prime location. And really, Waikiki is so touristy that if you don't care which of the massive hotels you are staying in, you might as well save some dough and stay at a hostel.

Breakfast is complimentary and includes mediocre coffee and toast with peanut butter and jelly. Perfect for the surfer on a budget. This worked perfectly for us as we planned many activities and didn't spend a lot of time at the hotel anywase.
