This is a pretty popular place to go for dinner. Seafood seems to be the best choice, fresh daily. The service was pretty good, the staff was friendly...not an overly fancy spot, business casual works.

Didn't stay at the hotel, but went to the restaurant, food was amazing and service even better. Seafood was fresh and tasty.
We dressed up, but you do not have too, sine it's located in Waikiki it's attracts many tourists who are very casually dressed.
Gotta try it!

I took friends and family to Nick's on Christmas day. It was a disaster!

o The service was *very* slow (even though we selected the special menu of the day)
o Some of the food was cold (cold steak is not very enjoyable)
o The staff had too many tables to service for the employee load

I suspect all the new development on Lewers Street is going to be the death of Nick's, especially if they don't get their act together.

They used to be "the" place to go in Waikiki. How times change...

The hotel was nice, but I also just came off from staying at the Prince. This is probably ranked as a three star hotel. Its nice in terms its a place to sleep and its centrally located. The rooms aren't the greatest and the beds leave much to be desired, but its still a place to sleep and if you plan to spend every waking moment at the beach this is a good hotel. Kind of small and old.

Located near the entrance to Waikiki, the Waikiki Gateway is another older property that has seen better days. Still, it is clean and well maintained and in a good location. The staff here are friendly and helpful. If you don't plan on spending a lot of time in your hotel room, and you're on a budget, this can be a resonable option for you.

We took dear friends to Nick's to celebrate their 40th anniversary. The evening was simply delightful. I was like dinning in New York with leather chairs and booths, red carpet and excellent service. Our meals were served "just right" and we had some specific requests. I had the sea bass special which was prepared with a tomato base salsa that perfectly complimented the generous portion of fish. The lamb and steaks were excellent as well. When the bill came, I found that the prices were not high for Honolulu, but one has to keep in mind that Honolulu restaurants are a bit higher than Southern California where we come from. I highly recommend Nick's for dinner.

Nick's is living on a past reputation that it no longer lives up to. The attitude that one encounters here are obviously from the glory years the once celebrated restaurant enjoyed. Although written up in several local restaurant reviews as one of the bestin Honolulu, of my 7 dinners out in February, it was by far the worst.
Three of our four meals were overcooked. My Ono was fishy and stunk.
We were ignored for most of the meal and were unable to protest the quality of our entrees until we asked for a check.
Definitely the most expensive dinner I had in Honolulu and by far the most disappointingprice doesnt mean quality here.
