I used to like Kakaako Kitchen. Until today. My hope is that someone from the establisment will read this: go and steal the Tequila Chicken receipe from California Pizza Kitchen or don't cook it!\r\nMy dish consisted of tasteless pieces of black meat chicken floating in some thick, non-descript garlic sauce. At least the fetuccini was ""al dente"".

Pros: Nice location

Cons: Perhaps the worst dish I've ever had

I would tell anyone I know that is visiting Oahu to come by this place and grab a bite..or two. They have a wonderful outlook towards food, and are very health-inclined. Taro buns replace regular hamburger buns, and they give you brown rice options for your plate lunch. The desserts are great (although not made on site..oh well, they carry them!), and you can dine outside on the patio if it's extra warm. I will continue to come back and dine here.

I enjoy the Kakaako Cafe, its a good location and relaxed atmosphere after browsing in Ward Center. The food is pretty good, ingredients are fresh and local and the curly fries are pretty good too. The only problem is that I ordered a portobello mushroom sandwich and the mushroom was about half the size of the bun, which made it a very bready sandwich. Most other times I have not had a problem and the food has been very good. Parking is not great - off peak times are best in this bustling area.

This place serves gourmet hawaiian plate lunches -- like fresh ahi tuna chopped salad and the crispy mahi mahi fish sandwich with curly fries! We ordered those and both were delicious, and weren't as heavy as some of the other plate lunches you'd get around Hawaii. They put little touches on their meals that just make it perfect, like having soft and sweet taro buns for the fish sandwich as opposed to normal buns. There are tons of other stuff on the menu that we'd love to try as well!
