I used to enjoy this restaurant. Lately it has become somewhat pretentious with its unnecessary long waits at the bar "while your advanced reserved table is being set up" and when you enter the dining area of the restaurant it's completely empty. Neither myself or my husband are drinkers and the hostess puts you into the bar and take a while before seating you. For example once our reservation was for 7 pm and when we got seated it was closer to 7:45. We were planning to attend a showing after which was close by, but by the time we got there, it was almost done. On another occasion, one of our guests we had taken there, had a cocktail and the waiter only seemed interested if his drink needed to be refreshed. My water glass was empty and when the waiter came around again asking to see if he needed another drink I finally blurted out that some of us non-drinkers would like our water glasses refilled. He waved for someone else to bring refill our empty glasses.
If you're planning to spend the entire evening at a restaurant this is the perfect choice for you. If you're a non-drinker, avoid this place!

I haven't been here in awhile but still remember how great the food was. My all time favorite is their New York steak alaea -- pan seared with garlic, salt and pepper topped with crisped onions. Oh, so ONO!!

I went to this restaurant with a friend before going to another venue we needed to be there at 9pm. So we made reservations for 7pm and expressed that we needed to attend another function afterwards and felt that two hours was a lot of time for our meal and even dessert of we wanted.
We arrived promptly at 7pm and the server said our tables weren't ready and suggested we sit at the bar until they were made up. Neither of us being drinkers we just stood near the bar until our table was ready. My watched showed 7:38 by the time we were seated. The restaurant was completely empty. We looked over the menu while waited at the bar and knew exactly what we wanted. It took the waiter another half an hour before we actually got any service. We again expressed that we needed to attend another function at 9pm and we need to rush this. After an hour of wated time I changed my menu selection to something I felt would take less time to prepare. The item was somewhat less expensive compared to the items we originally planned to order. But after seeing how slow the service is, we decided to split an appetizer and have just a salad each. This appeared to make the waiter a bit gruff and our service was further reduced to ignored after the salads arrived. By this time it was 8:30 and we just started to eat. After scoffing down our meals like hungry dogs, we asked our server if we could get the check already. The waiter mentioned something about a guaranteed gratuity (I didn't hear the whole story since I did not pay for the meal). By the time we left, it was well over 9:20. I could tell from my date that this meal ruined his/my evening and now will never go back to this restaurant ever again! I know the meal was pricey even if for just the salad and appetizer, and tip. I think we would have enjoyed our meal much more had we gone to California Pizza Kitchen.

Pros: Friendly service at first

Cons: attitude

I enjoy eating all over this island and have found some really great places to eat. I got a chance to take some of my office staff to this for many of their 10 year anniversary. A total of about 7 of us. The ambience was nice when we first arrived...the layout of tables, bars, and booth were awkward. I ordered one the steak choices and my guest ordered mostly seafood entrees. The initial service was very nice and we were shown many smiles, given the descriptions of the various items we were curious about but then after we ordered no one seemed to remember we were there. (I like to rate my service at a restaurant on how quickly they refill my water glass...they failed). The food came out and it all looked wonderful and tasty...that was as far as it went though. My steak though cooked correctly was tough and extremely salty. The seafood entree's were so-so to bland my guests replied. Cocktails and desserts were good...but that was it in my opinion. I wouldn't want to go and spend that kind of money again. Sorry...

Pros: cocktails, dessert, restrooms were clean

Cons: food quality, price, ambience and atmosphere

This is one of the best fine dining restaurants on the island, we come here most holiday times and for special occasions. The fish is always fresh and vegetables usually local and yummy. It gets a bit loud so not the most romantic but great for a night out with friends and some great food and wine. Try the martinis and desserts too!I'm not big on meat so I can't vouch for those plates but I haven't ordered a seafood dish I didn't like. Parking is usually never a problem, validated and in the same building.

This place is the nicest hole in the wall place I have ever seen. My sister had her rehearsal dinner here and once you get inside you haev this feeling to say why does it look not so nice outside. The food was literally the best I have ever had. My sister had her wedding at the Kahala Mandarin and people were saying afterward that the food at 3660 may have been slightly better then at the Kahala. Have also eaten at the Halekulani and must say I think 3660 has them all beaten. The deserts are simply magnificant and the food in general is that good. I highly reccomend this place if you can get past the idea that it is a hole in the wall.

Just had dinner here a few weeks ago at the recommendation of the hotel concierge and loved it. Don't be put off by the inauspicious exterior appearance -- the interior is comfortable and nice. Although it's a bit off the beaten path, if you have a car, it's well worth going there.
The food was uniformly excellent. My guest had ahi and I had opakapaka -- they were perfectly done, with the Asian-inspired preparations not overpowering the fish. The wine list is really extensive. And save room for dessert -- the caramel bread pudding was amazing.

The service was impeccable.

It's definitely not cheap, but less than you might pay for food of much lower quality at many of Hawaii's overpriced restaurants.

In simple words: great food, great service, great atmosphere (not pretentious, but an excuse to get out of those shorts and slippas!), great wine, great overall. Highly recommend.
