My favorite aunt would make a layover in Los Angeles to bring us cocoa puffs on her way to Las Vegas. Now that she's gone, I have to fly to Honolulu myself. Sadly,. that doesn't happen often enough. If you're ever near Honolulu you must try these cream puffs. They are just amazing. AMAZING I SAY!!!!

I live in Portland, Oregon now, but when I go home, I always stop by Liliha Bakery for their cocoa puffs. I love the old-fashioned lunch counter, and the food is excellent. I have had breakfasts and lunches here and everything is always good and tasty. Just good, homestyle local cooking at its best!

If there's one thing you try when you come to Oahu, get some of the coco puffs from this bakery. I bought a dozen and my wife and I polished those bad boys off in two days.

The food here is down-home, local food! I enjoyed everything I tried there. They make a great hamburger steak and the pancakes are good . . . and this is from someone who rarely eats pancakes! \r\n\r\nSeating is hard to come by especially if you have large groups since they only have a small counter. \r\n\r\nCocoa puffs (chocolate cream puffs) are EXCELLENT!

And I'm not kidding. No matter what, I'm ordering at least a dozen cocoa puffs (chocolate filled cream puffs with chantilly icing on top..pure heaven). Suprisingly enough though, as good as their pastries and desserts are, their hamburgers are fries are perfect too! The burger is a size that I can handle, without feeling as though I ate a half a pound of beef. The bakery is definitely busy but the women who work here (many of whom have worked here for years and years) are so very helpful and will get you out of there as quickly as possible. I hope this bakery never leaves us.

This is the place to go for cream puffs and coco puffs. The line is always long. But they developed a system and they turn around your orders really fast. There is a diner on the side, which is opened 24 hours. I almost recommend this place to my out-of-town guests. Their Hawaiian experiences won't be complete without trying the coco puffs in Liliha Bakery.

I went here after I had heard rave reviews about the famous coco puff. Someone tried to explain what it was but couldn't, just said to try one. I ordered 2, in addition to a lilikoi malasada. The coco puff was ok but a little too rich for me. I ended up throwing the other one away. The malasada was loaded with filling and I had to remove some of it because it was just too much. I was both surprised and disappointed because I'm usually not too discriminating when it comes to baked goods and sweets. The wait was long but at least there is a system in place for customers to receive service. I'd like to give it a second chance. It'll take several visits to get through their huge selection of goodies.

The crowd that is ahead of you is a great indicator of the quality of food that you will grind.

In addition to cocoa puffs, Liliha Bakery makes the best frosting. I am NOT a frosting person--I'm usually the one scraping it off a cake because it is too sweet, greasy or gritty or whatever. Liliha's frosting is light, just the right consistency, not too sweet and the perfect topping to really ono cakes. They have a ton of designs and will also customize the decorations, too.

They make really good cocoa puffs. Their cakes are good but what they are most known for is the make the best cocoa puffs and they truly are great. They are about two inches in diameter and are filled with cocoa topped with sort of butter syrup top which makes them just amazing. However, the cakes are still really good.

Go for the Cocoa Puff!!!
:-D

This is an old time bakery that also has a counter where you can order their waffles or pastries for breakfast. Chocolate covered french doughnuts and cocoa puffs and their packaged waffles are favorites.

Growing up in Nuuanu I had a taste for Liliha Bakery's Cocoa Puffs from a very young age. And, being older now, I've seen many imitations. Even when I went to France and sampled a pastry filled with custard and chocolate, nothing beats Liliha. Nothing!

This longtime local hangout is famous for its cocoa puffs, cream puffs filled with cocoa pudding; and chantilly cake, a chocolate sponge cake slathered with a buttery frosting sprinkled with macadamia nut pieces. That's just the beginning…
