We stopped at Grandma's Coffee House on our way back from Tedeschi Winery. This tiny wooden coffeehouse is homespun and well loved by locals. The coffee was excellent as was our banana bread and Grandma's proved to be a perfect late afternoon stop. Bonus! We ordered to go their lasagne and pesto pasta with salads to go (see the deli case) and both were excellent for dinner after a busy, fun day of sightseeing. Grandma's was great!

If you're staying in Wailea or Kaanapali, it can take a while to get to Grandma's, but the espresso is worth every penny it takes to drive there, even when gas was almost 10 bucks/gal. It's a little rundown but that's its charm--a nice break from the upscale stores in the resort areas. They always have a wide assortment of homemade goodies: pumpkin bread was moist and delicious. They have a small menu of basic sandwiches. Enjoy your coffee on the outdoor deck surrounded by coffee plants and enjoy views of the city below, and laugh at all those suckers down there with their Starbucks. Near Haleakala Crater, so stop there on your way to or from the crater.
