I have been to Libby's Manapua shop over a 100 times. I love the Manapua there and no other manapua shop can compete with that! The only thing that is lacking there is the service, you hardly ever get a thank you.. I mean sheesh you would think that i would be a good customer to them?? I guess they know they have the best manapua in town so why should they bother to say thank you! They should learn to appriciate there customers!

I have eaten manapua from all over Oahu including the manapua vans that used to cruise around the island. The only real competition is Chun Wah Kam and their manapua is too greasy and bland even if they treat you nice (I guess their specialty is noodles since they aren't called Noodle Factory for nothing). Ignore the dissenting review since it obviously comes from a troll who got butt hurt. You owe it to yourself to eat the best manapua the island has to offer. Ask anyone about manapua and Libby is what they will recommend. Is there any vendor that wants unnecessary drama? I can't blame for taking the stance they took.

Today, I had the unfortunate experience of buying manapua from Libby Manapua in Kalihi. For one thing their selection is so limited (no baked manapua) and for another, their staff is so unfriendly. When purchasing my items, I noticed that "pepeao" was spelled 'pepeyao" on their menu; which being the proud Hawaiian that I am, brought it to their attention. All activity came to a stop and the young girl behind the register stopped giving me change and glared at me for a moment. Then she plopped the change into my hand, turned around and under her breath, but loud enough for me to hear, said "We're not Hawaiian" in that sing song tone that the youngsters use when they say "Whatever!". Well being the old fut that I am, I asked if the sassy girl was the owner to which the whole place became quiet and I followed the eyes to a stout "female ting" glaring at me. She said not one word as I vented that the behavior was unacceptable and of course took the side of the girl behind the register; probably her daughter because she looked like she would become the "stout female ting" 40 years from today. I guess they have enough customers because they didn't care and all the workers continued to glare at me. They didn't get the point that whether you are Hawaiian or not you should spell the word correctly or tell me why it is spelled the way it is. I find the oversight and lack of explanation offensive as both a Chinese and a Native Hawaiian. I ended with I think I'll stick to Char Hung Sut and left. Err...well, I did call them all A_ _ wipes before I left. Probably inappropriate, but made me feel really good! Please boycott Libby Manapua and chose to purchase your dim sum from other great places like Char Hung Sut, Aiea Manapua or Chun Wah Kam where you get better service, more choices and healthier selections without the attitude. Please pass this on so that Libby Manapua, a restaurant in decline, either realizes their service and selection is lacking or exists no more.

When I dream about manapua Libby's comes to mind. Their pork manapua is the BEST on the island. Most places give you fatty port, but the ones at Libby's is lean and delicious. The prices are awesome too.

Just something to know: They only accept cash. They are closed on Mondays. There is no where to sit. You just walk in, order and leave.

The manapua at Libby's is delicious. I prefer the the baked manapua vs the steamed ones. Libby's provides a wide variety of delicious fillings. My preference is the spicy chicken, kalua pig, and the regular, char siu.

Libby's manapua shop is the best on Oahu. They are a little shop and have a limited selection but it is the best tasting manapua I have ever had. Their prices are reasonable. Call in early in the morning before the sell out.
