Wonderful menu! Spectacular bar! Great service! Menu incorporates locally grown meats and produce. Lava cake highly recommended!
4We were staying at a Bed and Breakfast in Hilo and asked where a good place to eat was. They suggested this restaurant. It was a pleasant surprise. It was a small upscale restaurant with really good food and service.
5This restaurant is located in a shopping mall near WalMart. The interior is modern, clean and sophisticated. The food was excellent, the fish was fresh and service was attentive, quick and efficient. Best restaurant in Hilo considering that they are not that many restaurants there; at least that was my impression. I would go back in a heartbeart and enjoy their air conditioning because out in the parking lot is pretty hot!

Pros: Fresh fish, well prepared innovative food, good prices
Cons: Shopping mall location
We were on the Big Island for a week for a wedding, and this place was so good the first time, we had to go back for more! We tried it for lunch both times. I love that they use as much organic, local fare as possible. The fries were incredible!!
4We love the food at Hilo Bay Cafe'. You have got to try it. Don't let the name or location fool you. We stayed 8 days in Hawaii, 3 days in Hilo and 5 days in Kona. Hilo Bay Cafe' was the best food we had on the entire trip. The chef is outstanding. The food presentation can't be beat. Even the waitstaff was very attentive. I would go back to Hilo just to stop in at Hilo Bay Cafe'.

The crab cake sandwich and the french dip were both delicious--this is a great lunch spot that is nowhere near downtown. Also, take a look around. The place is quietly stunning, with a variety of seating arrangements and styles that look fantastic together.
