Iowa MacHine Shed Restaurant

I love this restaurant! Their booths/tables are HUGE. My husband and have gone there with our family plus both our parents and we ALL fit in one booth or around one table. Their food is fabulous and served in huge portions, and on the weekends they have this delicious gigantic breakfast buffet. Their prices are also reasonable as well, I never expected to get as much food for the price as I did. They also have a pretty decent-sized gift shop in the waiting area with all sorts of period-style trinkets. As a plus, when you eat here, part of their profits go to support Living History Farms, which is also a great place to spend the day with your kids!

I had the roast and mashed potatoes, both were hot and delicious. I also had the onion strings, which were probably the best I ever had. I honestly had a great experience, the lunch service was fast and friendly. I felt welcome and comfortable, it seemed like I could stay as long as I wanted. It was definitely a good deal, because in addition to the meal I ate there, I got two more to eat at home with the leftovers! I will definitely go back and would recommend it to friends. I would tell others to go for lunch, it probably gets pretty busy for dinner.

The steaks were very tender and seasoned just right. They served some great fresh side dishes. This place is not trendy but very comfortable. fun atmosphere with good food. The prices were great as was the service.
