I took my kids to the Science Station this weekend and wanted to share a few comments.

My 15 year old really liked the Space Theater and my 7 and 8 year old girls liked the earthquake table, the vacuum canister, the robot arms and the whisper well. Having visited earlier in the year I was happy to see that the exhibits had been worked on and were more engaging. It was definitely an improved experience.

We also spent quite a bit of time at "Games" the new traveling exhibit. While it's not flashy, we had a great time playing many games. I think in the winter it will be a very nice family option for a get out of the house trip.

Finally,we went to the IMAX film "Ride Around the World". It was very nice and the kids liked it. The theater was clean and well maintained.

We're looking forward to going back around the Christmas holiday to see Polar Express.

Had a chance to visit the traveling exhibit, Playing Together: Games...what a treat! We enjoyed playing games that were popular when we adults were children, as well as learning the historical significance of others. The math/science behind playing strategies, plus bi-lingual signage...all were plus factors.

I have taken the kids to the Science Station only because it was a bit cheaper to buy a combo pass to the IMAX theater at the same time. The activities are geared more towards little kids. Although the TV weather station was pretty cool and working on a blue screen.

PROS:
CONS: kinda of pricey

I really wanted to give them a better rating, but they are still struggling to keep the exhibits in good repair. Great classes for children and great movies at the IMAX for fairly good prices. Main part of the museum is probably better for children over 7, the classes are good for all ages.

PROS: IMAX
CONS: broken exhibits

The Science Station continues to disappointment. It seems that every time we visit several of the exhibits are broken. I know that sometimes children are rough with the exhibits, but you would think that the Science Station would have figured that out by now and would have staff members walking around and stopping children from abusing the exhibits. My son did enjoy one of the few newer exhibits, the astronaut training chair. The ride that he took was worth the extra dollar we had to pay.

I have visited THE SCIENCE STATION many times with my children but it seems each time we go I am disappointed. Not disappointed with the type of displays and such, but disappointed that there is so much more they could do with this educational opportunity yet they fall short of expectations time and time again.

The entry fee is somewhat expensive and the gift shop is full of mostly overpriced plastic stuff that you can find at 1/2 the price at your local superstore. Do what we do, I purchase items BEFORE we go at our local department store with a science theme. I then place them in individual bags. I inform the kids they can have their "prize" in the car when we leave. They KNOW the "prize" will in fact be a better quality item than found in the gift shop (I've raised my kids to know quality! :-) ... ) and they don't complain about even visiting the gift shop. Try it, it works for all sorts of places...zoos...museums....theme parks. Kids don't care WHERE the "prizes" come from simply that they get one!

Anyway, the attractions and hands on experiments are of average qulity here but the kids seem to enjoy them....at least until the third or fourth visit then they speak what i've thought for quite awhile now...."...why don't they change this stuff more often!?!"

In short, once again this is the opinion of one MOM....but I would like to think the reader understands that I am a consumate value addict and I don't suffer gently the misuse of my hard earned $.

PROS: ...some fun stuff
CONS: ...not enough value for the $

This place has a lot of neat things to do. I haven't been here in about a year but I would highly recommend. I consider myself pretty knowledgeable about a lot of things, but some of the exhibits there we just awesome! This place isn't that expensive, and there's an IMAX theatre right next door. You could spend awhile over on this section of town. Definitely say to check this place out! My recommendation for this place is that it rocks, hands down!

I have been to the Science Station many times over the years with my children's school classes and with their fellow scouts. I have always enjoyed the great exhibits they provide. It is always a great learning experience for the children. They always enjoy the little stations set up for learning play. The staff has always been very kind and courteous. I highly recommend this place to take your children.

This museum is really for children. (Mainly kids younger than 14.) Nothing here for adults--don't bother going in. They have recently remodeled and added some new exhibits. The Science Station is on three different floors. Some of the exhibits my children enjoy are the earthquake table, the pulley seat and the water table. They do offer family memberships.

I thought that the price you have to pay to go here was a bit much. Even the adults have to pay quit a bit even though it is for kids. You are not allowed to drop the kids and leave either. I did not feel that there were enough actives to keep us busy for a couple of hours.

Limited free parking, rest is metered.

The Science Station offers activities for the kids as hands on. They can see a cloud formed by pushing on a big bellows. Fly a plane and see how the wind flows over it. Operate robotic arms and try to pick up foam blocks. Blow big bubbles using wire of different shapes and a big guillotine thing. Build an arch with Velcro blocks and many other actives throughout the three stories of the building.

I was not very impressed with this place. They dont have much to do for what they charge for admission price. There was not that much for my younger son to do. My older son was rather bored with that they offered. It is very clean inside and everything looks nice. They do have a gift shop that is rather pricey if I may say.

The science station is a great place for the family. It is very educational and you learn about alot of things. They are there to teach you about our enviroment and how things around us work. It's a really cool place to go to!

The science station is a great place to take the kids where they can have a good time and learn something too. lots of fun interactive exibits where they can actually participate instead of just looking. with the addition of the i-max it has even more to do and see and they have some great movies from the regular just for fun movies to science movies, definately a great place
