Today I picked up my rocking chair from Knock on Wood. I enjoy caning antique chairs, but this one was in such bad shape when I received it, that I didn't think repair was even affordable. One side of the seat frame was broken in half and the entire chair listed to the left. There were holes from a make-shift seat someone had screwed into it, the list goes on. Mike was able to twist the chair into shape and he hid long screws between the caning holes and filled in the missing wood. Then he smoothed out all the sharp edges so that I won't break cane as I work on the new seat and back. There is no way you could look at the chair today and guess how messed up it was 2 weeks ago. The great thing is that it once belonged to my grandmother and I am sure I could not have found a better restorer to save it. I'm happy to give this business my highest praise.

I had heard about Knock On Wood from many people and not a single one of them has been dissatisfied.

I recently had the opportunity to put them to the test with an antique Morris chair. The chair had been in my wife's family for years, and as the story goes, the chair fell into disrepair and been stored in an old storage shed for quite some time.

I took the chair to Knock On Wood for minor repairs/restoration; I pretty much just needed the thing taken apart and glued back together. These guys did a fantastic job!

When my wife saw it she couldn't even tell there were repairs done. All work was crafted and stained to match the original patina the chair had acquired during its years of use! Absolutely fantastic!

My wife's chair was small scale, but Knock On Wood can accommodate huge things as well (dressers, armoires, tables, etc). The down side is that they're so good at what they do, that they have quite a backlog. They had our chair for nearly a month before they could even start on it.

Need something repaired, restored, or fabricated? Take it to Knock On Wood: great craftsmanship, fair prices.
