Don't place your child there! Koality Time on 8th Street in WDM is child warehousing at its worse! My grandson has been bitten 10 times and has had 19 'boo boo' reports in the past year and he just turned two! That's 29 incidents! The staff is sub-standard. We observed one girl who had a gang symbol (a gun) tattooed on her neck. Another was wearing a garment sporting a marijuana leaf on it. Another staffer appeared to be gay and was caught sitting on the floor, holding my grandson on his lap, nuzzling him. It wasn't until my son complained that the 'man' was removed from my grandson's room with the promise that he would no longer be caring for children in that area. My grandson has been exposed to staff infection, chicken pox, colds and flu and has had pink eye no less than 5 times. Most of the children run about with snot and boogers dripping from their nose. The infant room is a disgrace. When I observed it, two women were in charge of 8-10 infants, eight of them in bouncers sitting on the floor. Some were crying, some had pacifiers in their mouths. My ill grandson was left alone in his crib and there he lay until I was summoned to pick him up and take him home. On another visit, he lay in his crib, in a cold room without a blanket. When questioned the staff person claimed the mother had not brought a blanket and they did not supply them. So, my grandson spent a very cold day at the daycare! Unbelievable! The child has had a constant rattle or cough since he began going to this daycare at 6 weeks of age. Often his diaper was dirty when I would pick him up and the staff seemed surprised when I insisted he be changed. Several times he had pooped through his outfits because apparently the staff isn't trained how to put on a diaper. A few times, in the dead of winter he was clothed only in his diaper when his father retrieved him! Now, at age two he cries every time my son drops him off. His ignorant mother insists he go there because they have 'nanny cams' and the facility is 'convenient' for her. Obviously those cameras don't show the real picture and her 'convenience over-rides the quality of care my grandson deserves. My son has been trying to have him removed from this house of horrors for over a year and a half. So, now, it's going to court. I wouldn't recommend this warehouse to an adult let alone a defenseless child.

My husband and I recently toured the new Koalaty Time located in the Jordan Creek area by Wal-Mart, and were very impressed! We have been seeking Child Care for our 3 year old daughter, and decided to enroll her right away. The new building has about 20 classrooms, 2 playgrounds, and a performing arts center where children can take dance, music, acting lessons, and taekwondo. The entire building is decorated beautifully, and the classrooms are not only very educational, but also colorful and interactive with the children. We were very pleased to be introduced to two of the training and development coordinators who talked to us about the curriculum they develop, and the daily training they provide for the staff. We are very excited for our little girl to begin Pre-School and can't wait to see what the future brings!

They boast about the fact they have web cams in every room, but fail to meantin that they are there because the state mandated them. Teachers pull children into the bathrooms to bite, spank, pinch and various other things becaus the camera do not record in there. When other teachers that witness these actions report them to management, they get told that its because of poor training!! No one gets fired, parents do not get notified of what happened to their child and the owner just doesn't care. When e.coli broke out in the 12-18 month old rooms at 128th street, she threatened management with their jobs if they told anyone, because of the failure to notify parents of what their children had been exposed to, one toddler has permanet nerological damage. Guess it really is a beginning that lasts a lifetime... not one I want for my children.

My daughter went to Koalaty time for about 6 months before I became a same at home mom and I was very pleased with the care she received. They have you fill out a detailed care sheet and follow your babies preference. I think the fact that they were willing to continue the routine my daughter had at home definitely helped ease the transition. They had a variety of activities for the babies and did story time everyday. They were always open to suggestions on how to make my daughters day run more smoothly (she was a bit of a crank for the first 3 months) and in turn kept me well informed of how her days went- helped relieve the worried mom syndrome. (I'm a spaz-I admit it)
They also offer a variety of services to make the parents lives easier-a convenince area where you could purchase baby items, pizza, coffee, ect. They also did dry cleaning and other such perks. Koalaty time also offered lessons for the children like dance during childcare hours so mom and dad didn't have to drag the kids out after work for classes.
The main drawback is the cost-they are signifigantly higher than other centers in town but the quality of care is excellent and the location is very convenient.
