Horrible Customer service store wide. Had an issue with my reward zone points being sent in large quantities so I was forced to buy higher priced items if I wanted to use them. I asked 5 people at the store to break up the certificates into $5 increments like my settings say it should come as and nobody could help me so they passed me to the next person. After 4 people, I got Jeff McGraw inventory manager. He was super nice and very professional but again couldn??t help so they call corporate IT. My 5 minute shopping trip turned into 60 minutes just to buy one Blu-ray. I sent emails to the store manager and to the customer feedback on the Best Buy site about my issues and never got a response. The thing that ticked me off most other than being handed off to the next person was that nobody once said sorry until I got to the inventory manager. You can tell that by not responding they don??t care about my money. Too bad for them since I spent a large amount of money there and will be spending it elsewhere in the future. The reward zone program will not sway me to spend money there in the future.

I purchased a pair of Alpine speakers, installed at the store, and was recently having trouble with one of them. When I opened the cover to inspect it, I found a different brand-much cheaper-had been installed. I am horrified that a place supposed to be reputable would do a thing like this!

You guys must not get out much. BestBuy is not a 5-star, "world-class" outfit.

1) Product selection isn't that great. In some areas they have good coverage but when I've looked for PDAs, digital cameras, printers, portable GPS devices, in-car DVD plaers, and other types of products I often feel I'm settling on something just because they have it in stock, not because it's exactly what I want.

2) Displays are often beat up, products are missing, etc. I was just in there looking for a portable DVD player for the car and there was stuff on display that wasn't available, some of the display units were broken, and some of them weren't hooked up. That's pretty typical for a lot of product categories in the store.

3) Employees are completely useless. I've rarely met a BestBuy employee who knew anything about the products in his department, let alone more than me. Seriously, how many times have you had to go over to another customer and correct what the salesman just told them? I find myself doing that all the time when I'm at BestBuy.

4) "Would you like a 3-year warranty for $24.95 to cover your $49 purchase?" If you can escape the sales pitch from the floor sales guy, you get it again at the cash register.

5) "Would you like a free subscription to Entertainment Weekly?" No. Just ring up my purchase and let me escape this torture chamber.

6) BEEP BEEP BEEP "Excuse me sir, let me check your bag". Why is it that BestBuy is the only place in town where I set off the security device at the exit door? OK, I guess it happens at WalMart, too, but I can easily outrun the old codgers they put in charge of the doors at WalMart.

Anyway I could go on. When I go into BestBuy I cross myself (even though I'm not catholic); burn incense; take deep, cleansing breaths; cross my fingers; and stick a prayer in the wailing wall. I figure I need all the help I can get to get in and out of there without losing it.

And yet, I go back. Unfortunately, there's nowhere else to get some of what they sell there.

best buy has a great selection of movies games and cd's. when new releases come out they are cheaper than a lot of other stores and the employees are always willing to help and you are always greated when you walk in. they have all kinds of electronics, computers, and apliances too.

Be sure you have a warranty on all you buy so that you can go back if you have any problems.
I bought a computer there and they did do wonderful followup and helped with problems.

These employees are so friendly and ready to help at any time. They are very easy to find w/ their blue shirts too. This is the place we find all of our electronics, and the prices aren't half bad.

CONS: Too high of prices on appliances

The prices on these items is very reasonable. They tend to have some good deals on computer packages as well. The technicians in the computer department are very knowledgeable and love to chat about computers.

I love the selection of GameCube games, but I haven't seen them go on sale very often.

The employees are easy to locate and you don't have to wait too long to get assistance on a busy day.

now that ultimate is gone this is the place where i get all my strereo equipment and they are honoring ultimates warranties from what i understand. they have a pretty nice selection of everything from tv, movies,cds,computers,car stereo equipment and so on. and have great prices too.
