I am so glad I didn't rent from this individual. His picture in the paper today greatly sparked my interest, only to find this website with all the complaints. I moved here right after the flood from out of state, and the properties he had were ungodly. He wouldn't even show us the properties, he would just throw us the keys and ask us to leave them unlocked when we were done viewing them. There was one house we looked at that he warned us "hadn't been professionally cleaned yet". Why the city never condemned that house is beyond me. It was literally falling in on itself, with baby diapers and feces smeared on the walls. Seeing what I've seen on this website, the previous tenant probably did it with good reason. He also wanted us to sign a separate agreement that reserved the right for him to come into our rental at any time to euthanize our animals. Somebody was looking out for us that day and we could tell that he more than likely had shady business practices.

I live in one of his houses and I called the health inspector in March of 2008 and they didn't do anything until 1 hour before the health inspector came. They just spray painted over the mold they took a plug in that was on fire and just replaced the cover, the tape that is on our heater wasn't taken off and the whole thing replaced like they told the inspectors. I moved in in the winter so when the snow melted I called and went in to tell them about the shoe size holes in the back yard and the pool and tarp that is back there and they said they would have someone come out well it's almost July and guess who hasn't been here I gave them their week notcie and nothin was fixed just gone over so now leagaly I can give them my 3 day notice to terminate my lease and I am. If anyone who is looking for some answers just call an attorney they can help just answering questions, trust me the helped me figure him out and how to keep my deposit when I terminate my lease. If you didn't get your deposit back take $65 down to small claims and sue him. Please believe me I know someone who did it when he kept their deposit and other charges to the house.

I don't want to move out of my home however I moved in on 2/1/08. I lived there for 2mths and got a letter in the mail stating that my lease has expired and I need to resign or vacate the premises. I called and they let me know that my lease will expire 4/1/08 and I need to resign. My rent will be going up to 695. When I moved in my rent was 595. My boyfriend and I went into the office and they had no real reason why the rent is going up it's just part of the terms. I let the lady know at the desk that if this does go up again that we would be moving out. We also asked about a longer term agreement. She said there are no longer leases than 3 mths. About 2 weeks ago my basement flooded and I have been trying to contact them and I have talked to someone twice. Both time being told someone will come over. The one time I know they came over and did NOTHING! I have 2 children in the home and there is at LEAST 2 inches of water. I had a couch and numerous toys ruined due to this. I am severely allergic to mold and there is mold climbing up the walls. I have been making an attempt to clean the water myself and this has been VERY difficult. I have left numerous messages and noone has returned my call. I ended up calling the city and getting ahold of a building inspector. He will be coming over tomorrow to take pictures. When he called the office the owner wanted to push the blame and then said he would have someone over. I am still waiting.

The price is so cheap. but I cant trust them after what happened.one day i went to work. my first 2 weeks.my wife was a sleep.the guy that takes care of the maintenance knocks on the door.my wife does not wakeup. all she know is when the guy opens the door with his key. he saw her and left. she called me and i came over and gave him a lesson. icalled the office and the lady was rude and never helped.dont go there.

I am in the process of apartment searching. I called to see if one of there apartments were available, and the lady who answered the phone informed me it was, and when I would be able to move in. I asked if possible Dec 1, stated ok, she then asked if I had any pets, told her yes 1 cat. She informed me, they do not accept cats. I told her I could leave it, she informed me I dont want to loose my cat, I informed her I was in a pinch, and needed to see an apartment, asap, and could leave my cat. I asked her if I could at least see the apartment. She told me "No you cannot see the apartment" I told her that I would get rid of the cat, told me no still you cannot see the apartment because some people lie.. I asked her if the apartments were EHO.. stated yes. Then I said I would not want to rent from them anyway because she was so rude, she said "great we dont want you to anyway" and hung up the phone. Very bad company

They took my application fee and didn't even perform a background check or anything! Every single time I have spoken to them on the phone, I have had to call THEM. Thank GOD I didn't sign a lease with them. I'm going to have to take them to court just to get back money that they didn't even earn.

Cons: Absolutely incompetent. No one will get back to you or treat you with respect.

I don't know how I can even express my dissappointment..

-Living room floor was freshly sanded, but unfinished when I moved in, I had to ask several times to get it finished, they put down about 1/2 coat of finish on the floor. Then as part of the moveout I am responsible for appling another coat.

-I have to get carpets professionally cleaned, they want a receipt. That's easy, I can give them a receipt :) Was only there for 3 months (about 50% of the time).

-Garbage in the garage when I moved in. We will see what they say about it when I move out.

-No insuation in the entire house, heat for 1 month was $200 (rent is $600).

-Each month I would drive to their location to pay the rent. About half of the time they were on the phone have a 'heated conversation' with one of their other customers. I would hate to have to work there, you can tell that the employees of this company have to deal with a lot of pissed of customers, they don't have the most pleasent atitudes. Several times I hear the phrase 'It was in the lease you signed...'

My parents lost their house to bankruptcy because my mom was sick. Equity realtiy bought the house and let my parents stay there. He charged them 895.00 for rent and never fixed anything after my parents would call to say that something was broke. After mom died dad tried nurmous times to get the roof replace and he never did. My dad past away in that house two years after mom went. The guy told us that we had to get our parent's things out of the house by jan. 1 or he was going to charge us rent. It was very stressful to get accomplished when we were trying to plan our dad's furnel. We were almost done and he sent people in to work on the house and they started to destory everything that our parents did to that house right in front of us. My mother had a tropical plant that we wanted out very last due to the cold weather. The landlord pulled it out of the house and kill the plant. A month later he tried to tell us that we owed him money because of all the things that he redid to the house and we did not pay him one dime. So if any one wants to look at a property own by this company is a fool. Don't ever rent to these guys because they will start your rent cheap then jack it way up to where you can't afford it. I don't get how this guy can be in busines with all the laws he breaks and gets away with. I also heard that he stills he occupets mail and goes into the home without permission.

watch out for this company They are the shadyest around do not sign on the bottom line with out a magnifing glass. there are alot of hidden fees. like an non refundable pet deposit.
