I've been going to this clinic since 1996, 4 dogs, and 6 cats have had their shots, spayed, Nutered and declawed, ect. Their prices are 40-50% cheaper than others, Employees are friendly, Havent had a wrong diagnosis, once a cat of mine had a urinary tract problem, $200 later it was solved, sounds expensive until the a certain two named vet (A*) wanted $800 and to buy their $45 dollar a bag per month special cat food for urinary tract, You can get exactly same food at Hyvee for $15, A little more than regular cat food but much less than $45 (Also their sensitive systems food is similar to much more expensive but exact same ingredient food,)
First come first serve is how 've been helped, I can't think of anything negative to say, Have tried 5,6 different vets until someone told me about this great place, I once asked how they can be so much less in cost, No huge building and only a select few employees keep overhead down, If i sound overboard get some quotes on spaying and rabies shots for example then call here, none of my cats lived less than 16yrs, 2 still running-well sleeping still, Couldn't be more pleased.

Dr. Brown may be great with just regular checkups, routine things. My experience with bringing 2 cats to him ended up being very non-satisfactory. One cat showed signs of tail lashing, skin twitching, 'sudden burts of activity', darting around wildly, she would also actually 'attack' herself. If you tried to get her attention, it was as though she didn't know you were there. This vet's 'diagnoses' was 'well she's as older cat and is still able to play real well'. He did not even both to check her weight, as asked - twice. (Turned out she had lost 3-4 lbs.).. Found out that because I took her to a RESPONSIBLE vet, & immediately she guessed that this cat could have Hyperthyroidism & after some testing, this other vet was right & truly examined my cat & didn't brush things off. The medication this cat needed made a world of difference & she gained the wt. she needed to - back to her normal weight. This OTHER vet CARED.
With my other cat - one ear was VERY itchy. I knew it was not mires; her ears were very clean. I asked him if it could be something else. He of course tested for mites, then just said "WEll, it's not mites - if she still is itching bring her back in a week or so" - just brushed off this problem again - continual itching of the ear - scratching up her ear.
Immediately got her to a more responsible vet. She tested with a q-tip type of thing & the looked at it on the 'microscope'; my cat had a yeast infection in the ear. This vet - he totally brushed off looking for something else wrong in her ear right then. Not responsible at all.

Bell Animal Hospital is without a doubt the best Vet in The Q.C. Area. Not to diminish the efforts of others in the area, but Dr. Brown Stands Alone! Never will he rip you off. Never will he give your animal anything more than 100% LOVE & CARE! It hurts extremely bad when something happens to our little furry friends. Life does happen sometimes. Dr. Brown has been there for me and all of my pets! And, given the chance he will be there for yours! Not Enough Stars to rate How great they are. A++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++

I just got a puppy and I shopped around. A few people I work with took their pets to Bell so I decided to go there. Bell Animal Hospital was very reasonable. I received excellent customer service. You save a lot of money on the vet visits so don't expect a fancy office but he gets the job done and done well.

Forget any of the bad reviews you see, I have been taking my dogs to Dr. Brown for years and so have many of my friends. We have had nothing but professionalism, great treatment and prices. Dr. Brown and his staff truly care about the health of your animal. Highly recommended!

I would like to echo the top-notch reviews of the prior postings. I was only at Bell Animal Hospital one time with my dog, visiting from out of town, and in need of a rabies shot for the dog and heartworm medication. How refreshing to just get what was needed, not be talked into anything else that wasn't needed, and not be charged for an office visit. Five stars!

I must say in the qaud ciites he is the fairest vet when it comes to prices. Does not take credit cars but the saving is worth it. I have taken all my cats there and they are all treating kindly.
If you need to have you cat stay an extra day it only cost 10.00 which is very reasonable. 5 stars in my opinion. The office is very clean. Parking is a litttle tight.

Our family has been taking our dogs to Dr. Brown for years, because he is so reasonable we have adopted 3 Greyhounds that we wouldn't have been able to afford otherwise. He has taught me how to take care of the small stuff at home so that people with seriously ill or injured pets can get the treatment they need, also helping save my time and money and getting my pets treated faster. If you went to him expecting a new best friend you should have joined a club, if you want excellent no frills no higher bills care for your pet see Dr. Brown and Pam. His is the only vet I will see unless it's an after hours emergency. I highly recommend him.

I have been taking my cats to Dr. Brown for years, as well. Because I'm a underpaid Social Worker :) my income doesn't allow me to take my cats to the "fancier" vets in the area. This is okay with me, because Dr. Brown has always provided the best care to my cats. While the office isn't 5 star, you can assure that your bill will be reflective of the care provided, not by the amenities. It's true that he only takes cash, which is kind of a pain, but you deal with it because you know at the end of the day, your pets are cared for, and you aren't overchaged! And for those of you who don't care for the place, go some where else...to a place that takes credit cards, but where you'll pay much more. Thanks Dr. Brown!

I just want to say that my experience has been great at Bell Animal Clinic. I recently got a German Shepherd puppy and have been taking him to Bell, and I have not had a problem. In fact, when I mentioned to the doctor that I was having a problem with he puppy biting, he took the time to offer some training suggestions and even got me a flyer for a dog trainer. And I was a walk-in! I know what it is like to be down-trodden. I have been there! Pick yourself up by your boot straps and do something different to better your life. Go back to school or learn a trade. Then you won't have to depend on other people so much.

I've been taking my pets to Dr. Brown for 15 years, and my family years longer. Never a complaint, never rudeness, never anything but pure professionalism. As for the pay now thing, you can't walk into any business and expect them to allow you to pay later; this is a cash and carry world. I'm sure there was more to this story, because I've had situations when I couldn't get to the office personally to pick up my pet's prescriptions before closing time. Dr. Brown has always allowed my representative to pick them up and I pay the next time we're in. Great service and gentle pet care, that's what you'll find here!

I take all 3 of my dogs to this establishment and not once have received poor service. Dr. Brown is a great vet and does not over charge like the rest of the vets in Davenport. I dont disagree they required payment of 20 from the person who posted earlier. Its a small amount and could easily have been borrowed and this person has no right to assume she should get something for nothing.

Take your pet to this vet, you wont be disappointed.

Dr. Brown is the most honest and reasonable Vet there is. He loves animals, and I believe there is more to this story about the complaint then is told. If his staff appeared rude it is because they are swamped with customers from the time they open until they close. Having a pet is very expensive and if your sister can't afford the vet bills...then perhaps you should pay her bill in advance, there is no where else she could walk into for less then $35 office fee. He has no office fee. Shame on you for slandering him this way.

I have taken my dog's to Doc Brown at Bell animal hospital for a long time - sometimes routine, sometimes an emergency. I have always received profesional and good customer service. All the staff are generally great to deal with. They do try to hold costs down by doing such things as not accepting credit cards. They really strive to provide good care at an affordable cost. As far as Janet E's sister maybe she should not have a pet if she can not be financially responsible for it - I am betting she can probably afford a cell phone and cable TV - all a matter of priorities

At Bell you'll get quality care and services for your pet at a great price. They only do what you ask so you're not paying for extra services they you don't want. No appointments are necessary unless it requires surgery. So stop in and give them a try next time your pet needs a doctor. They don't accept credit cards.
