Java Joe's is a downtown Des Moines staple. They have food, great coffee, tea, and free Wi-Fi. There is also a fun little room for the kids to play. I love stopping in there any time, but during the Farmer's Market, it's especially hopping.

Java Joe's has an eclectic crowd and consistently good coffee and atmosphere. My book club meets there regularly and has enjoyed it for that. It is also worth a stop for reading or studying on a quiet night.

I used to eat at Java Joe's nearly every weekday for lunch. The food offerings are pretty standard soups and sandwiches with vegetarian and vegan friendly options. I highly recommend the Ginger Curry Pita. Sandwiches are served with Fritos and a pickle all for around $5.

Great place to study, read or use the free Wi-Fi and surf the web.

1. Their coffee is cheap and delicious.
2. They have some really good lunch sandwiches, like a curried chickpea pita with avacado and sprouts.
3. Their menu expands to the usual pastries/muffins, smoothies, espresso drinks, ex.
While I was not a huge fan of their specialty drinks nor food items, a health-conscious friend of mine swears they have the best bran muffins.
4. This coffee shop offers plenty of seating, outlets, space, and has a great downtown location, near local eateries, bars, and music venues.
5. This place also frequently has readings and performances.

Definitely a local hangout with checking out.
