Add racist to the other derogatory characterizations of the swine who run this place. I just mentioned a hispanic name, and the response was, "Oh, an illegal immigrant who doesn't speak English". This was before I even stated why I was calling. This person would not provide his name although he connected me to the owner who gave me an earful and told me he was going to call the police and have me arrested. For? Zero brains.

I have no complaints about Chambers, but I also don't mind fixing things on my own (my doorknob broke, but they're cheap enough) so I haven't had reason to contact them. They've left me alone too, except when it came time to renew my lease; they are not overly friendly, but it's a professional relationship so I don't mind. That's generally how I think landlord-tenant relationships should be: just leave me alone, and I'm happy. Based on my limited interactions with them, I would say that if you're looking for someone to hold your hand whenever you have a problem, Chambers probably isn't the management company for you, and I don't say that comment flippantly.

As for the apartment, it's in pretty good shape, the only exception being the aforementioned doorknob. The property is always well-kept in the spring and fall (not around during summer), and they plow the driveway well enough during the winter.

Overall, I'd say if you're a low maintenance tenant who enjoys your privacy, Chambers is fine. If you like a dialogue with your landlord -- and I've known some people who do -- look elsewhere.

Their attitude toward tenants is arrogant, petulant, and demeaning. They have already created a very bad reputation in this town. I know 3 other associates/acquaintances who have rented from Chambers, who like myself, have vowed to "never rent from them again, or recommend their "services". Like the other posting, your needs or requests for services seem to be a gross inconvenience to them; weeks go by before they are even dealt with (like the rapid growing mold problem in my kitchen/bathrom). Yet, when they want something from you---it is demanded, often in a very sarcastic letter....as a parent would address a child. Upon leaving, I commented to one of their mgt "neo-fascist goonies", "you are a very arrogant person." His reply? "I've been told that before." (He seemed very proud and smug about it, too!) This is the total sum experience having experienced the "Chambers Property Mgt Freezeout"---they are clueless, money-grabbing, penny-pinching, souless ghoulies, who have hearts of stone. WARNING: RENT FROM THEM ONLY if you desire a masochistic relationship; they will not fail give you 100% of a personally degrading rental experience!

I know 3 other associates/acquaintances who have rented from Chambers, who like myself, have vowed to "never rent from them again, or recommend their "services". This experience has been terrible. The management and employees are not friendly or helpful whatsoever. When there were serious issues at our apartment it took them weeks to respond, and they appeared to be inconvenienced by our apartment dysfunctions.
