I have taken my dogs to Greg Winterowd for over 10 years and have always received the best care and in a compassionate environment. They are very good about fitting me in if I call in with a sick dog which is very important to me as I have a 12 year old with IBD. They have a great tech staff and Marsha is awesome. They are a partner clinic to Linn Animal which has an ultrasound machine if you ever need it. They are good at giving you all of the options so you can decide the best treatment for your animal. They are not cheap, but good health care for my dogs is my top priority. They also support local rescue groups with reduced rates, which is where my last two dogs came from.

My family has taken our dogs (8 of them) to Park Towne for almost 8 years because he (Dr. Greg) had had experience with greyhounds. They are a small clinic but every time we would bring my dog/dogs in for an appointment I would have to wait 30 to 45 mins. Normal checkups cost close to $100 each time. No one staffs the hospital at night. We had to insist that they give us pain pills for the dogs after surgeries or stitches. Our dogs have had many stitches or staples and I can't count how many times we would have to go back and get them done because they were taken out too early. The final straw was when I adopted a lab puppy (8 weeks old) that need his leg amputated, that was why I adopted him specifically. I am 25 and just out of college so I don't have a lot of money but I had saved a reasonable amount for the surgery. I asked for a quote and he said $600 to $800 and my puppy would have to spend the night. I on a whim I got a quote from another clinic that I had heard good things from Edgewood Animal Hospital and they told me around $300 and he could go home with me that same night. I called "my" vet and asked him why his price was so different and he said "well it depends I just threw out an estimate and the other clinic has been known to cut corners". I said so you didn't even really look at Edward (my puppy) but you are still $500 more, so what do you do that is so different? His response floored me. He said, "well it is just different why don't you just get it done there if you have such a problem". After 8 years, 8 dogs and thousands of $ that was his response. I promptly said I would not be requiring his services anymore and please send all my family's dogs records to Edgewood. Edward got his leg amputated at Edgewood Animal Hospital for half the price (plus the checkups are reasonable between $20 and $50), the surgery was done beautifully, I didn't have to ask for pain pills, I got to take him home that night, and every time we go back all the nurses know him by name.

They saved my dogs life. They are awesome. They told me about treatments that was available and didn't try and make me go to the most expensive route. They are pricey BUT worth it. After your first visit they will bill you for any visit after that.
