I was going to switch to a different Vet begause I really didn't Like Dr. Gingrich for similar reasons listed below- lost of unneccesary and expensive testing- and I just didn't like the level of care and concern he had for my cats.

Then we unexpectedly got a dog, and she needed checked out. I hadn't found a new vet yet. So when I brought her to Tender Care, I found out Gingrich wasn't working there anymore but they had a new Vet, Dr. Hinson.

Folks, Dr. Hinson has found her calling. SHE IS FABULOUS. She's so good with both our cats and our dog, and she truely cares about each of them. She even called a week after she saw my cat for a respiratory issue just to see how he was doing. NO other vet I've ever had has shown so much care and concern.

Also, my sincerest condolences to reviewer, Karen. I know that must have been excriciating to receive that unexpected news. I don't know which vet was performing the cleaning, but I still doubt your pet's death was caused by malpractice or murder. As another reviewer pointed out, there are always risks when you put your pet under, reguardless of their age and health. Also, just like with humans, different pets react differently to medications and drugs. I'm sure we all know at least one person who has abnormal reactions to anestetic.

To sum up, the Tender Care is a great office with convenient location and parking, caring staff of nurses and front-desk folks, and they have an extrordinary Vet, Dr. Hinson. If she ever leaves Tender Care for any reason, I will bring my pets to whichever practice she joins.

To all the negative comments: Things do happen, you can find any veterinary clinic in a 5 mile radius that any other person can tell you bad things about. Anesthesia ALWAYS comes with risk, even in healthy pets! There have been some significant changes at Tender Care recently due to a new doctor coming to the practice. Her name is Dr. Hinson and she is really fantastic! I recommend anyone to go to Tender Care.

I would never recommend this vet to anyone. My 10 year old daughter and I brought our 2 yr old baby girl in for a simple teeth cleaning routine. And less than 2 hrs after we dropped off our baby girl, Dr.Graff called to let me know that my baby girl was not alive and did not make it. A 100% perfectly healthy dog and they killed her. I would never put an ounce of trust or faith in this vet. When I brought my baby girl to him, i expected no harm!! Very disturbing to our family!!

I agree with John L. - Dr. Gingerich tends to run unnecessary, expensive tests. My dog had a urinary tract infection (she had all the symptoms and signs as people do - I know, I'm an MD), but because the cheap dipstick test was negative, lots of other, expensive tests were done (x-ray, culture, even suggestion of possible surgery) which showed my dog had a urinary tract infection - 1 week and $500 later. I wish Dr. Gingerich would have listened to me and save my dog the unnecessary tests (and me the unnecessary expense).

Dr. Gingerich seemed only interested in running expensive tests. He wanted to run $500 in tests (x-rays, blood testing, hospitalization). I went to the vet in Hills and NONE of this was necessary it was just a cough that got better in one day with $10 of antibiotics.
