I have had a very good experience with quality care for my two dogs. She does house calls which fits into my busy schedule. She always spends a lot of time with each one and answers any questions I have. My older dog we have struggled with whether we should put him down for over a year (he has periods of good and bad days.) She has always taken the side of wait and see never acting in a manner that indicates a lack of respect for life.

Dr Bright has cared for my pets for several years. She is a very compassion person who loves animals and takes great care of my pets. My pets are like family members and I have full trust and faith in Dr. Bright to keep my pets healthy and to nurture them back to health when they get sick.
CJ A's review surprised me because I know it does not describe Dr. Bright. I suspect CJ A's review was not based on personal experience with Dr. Bright but based on a biased blog of the rescue from the "one other vet". The "one other vet" did not examine any of the cats so she was not in a position to know if any of the cats were healthy. She wanted to be given all of the cats regardless of their health and was upset when she did not get her way. In fact, there were 2 vets, Dr. Bright & a vet from ISU's Vet Med School, who actually examined the cats. The only cats that were euthanized that day were cats with serious health issues.

This elected vet elected to take the lead during a "rescue" in aapprox 50 cat hoarding situation with the ARL(Animal Rescue League) and others in a publicized activity with other rescuers (and one other vet). Despite the cats were deemed to be health and rehomable (and infact the rescue/rehome locations had already been established and the other vet verified the state of their health.

Now I can understand that many rescues take in as many animals as they can because they are paid for each animal by the local govermnent, (a "bounty" fee so to speak) with no obligation to keep the animal alive in return for that fee.

What was astonishing to me here,is that there were other options to save these animals that she chose to ignore , chosing instead to euthanize this "disposable' animals with the full support of the ARL and over the objections of other volunteers and the vet at the event ready to help these cats.

I would no more trust a vet like this to treat my animals, much less make recommendations because of my fear of the option recommendations being 1) am I a "friend" (I am not) 2) how much money would I be willing to pay to her to save my pet, or 3) would she race though an exam to get through as many animal bodies as she could for the maximum profit?

I know that I chose my animal care based on their demonstrated behavior, compassion and attitude about what is saveable. If this was the only vet in town, I would travel to another city rather then take a risk because of the depth of my lack of trust!
