Some interesting stuff- Todd definitely knows his artists and sometimes you can get some really nice works there. The jewelry counter is also FAB. The downside is that it is too small, too crowded and some of that stuff in the back room needs to MOVE out cause it's just taking up valuable space. I'd say 40% off the back part and CLEAN.IT.OUT. Like to the left of the hallway and also the very back room with the games and quilts. I have noticed prices creeping up there on small stuff. If it's not unique, it better be cheap. Definitely a place to check out weekly if you can.

Imagine being a poor undergraduate student and needing something basic like a small table, toaster, or salt & pepper shaker set. You could drive out to Target or Walmart and buy their latest China-made offering or you can walk a couple of blocks to Artifacts and buy something used, vintage and cool for half the price! The store is small and cramped but it is well worth taking the time to explore it. Every nook & cranny is filled with stuff. You won't find any high-end antiques here. Everything is inexpensive and inventory turns over very fast so every time you stop in there is something new to look at.

I must start off by being brutally honest here. I have a real phobia about crowded, dusty places. I don't know where it originated but the minute I enter such a place I have the urge to run screaming down the street. Thus it was when I first entered ARTIFACTS.

Now most of you know I like antiques and though I haven't reviewed a lot on INSIDERS PAGES I'd like to think I have been totally honest, so I must be aout this place too. I love antiques but there are antiques and then there are what we used to call "junque"...or for those literal people out there..."junk"! And I am afraid that is what is in this store.

I wouldn't advise anyone to go to this store unless you like older "less gently used" items and feel they have a character all their own. Me...I'd much rather frequent a shop I don't knock myself out sneezing within 2 feet of the front door.

It's up to you reader....junque or antiques?!? The age old question...do you have the answer?

PROS: ......lots to see here...if you can unearth it
CONS: ....crowded, junky and dusty

Funky and kitschy junk at reasonable prices. The owner has a good eye for what to accept on consignment and what to turn back. If you are looking for an inexpensive retro store, this is it.

PROS: Great supply.
CONS: Crowded.
