Walrus and Carpenter is run by a local poet. It is your typical used bookstore in that the books are somewhat haphazardly arranged and they usually (though not always) have their prices written in the corner of the flyleaf.

The pros of the bookstore are:
It often has books that aren't in or available right away at the local chain bookstore.
It's a wonderful place to browse.
You can shoot the bull with the owner or other local poetes, students, and professors.
And, of course, the price.

The cons are:
The books may be somewhat haphazardly arranged, though Will (the owner) can usually help you find what you're looking for if it's in the store.
There is no guarantee that they will have what you're looking for in the store. For example, they may have parts of a series but not all.

PROS: Price, browsing, often has books unavailable in other outlets
CONS: Somewhat haphazard arrangement
