Previously, I've received commendable service from this clinic when it came to cookbook-type medical help for fractured bones, sprains, the flu, and a couple of ear infections. This most recent experience, however, shows the complete lack of follow-up of the clinic's staff which earned them my two-star recommendation:

Two days ago, my wife was complaining of moderate abdominal pain so we went to this clinic early in the day for a diagnosis. Dr. Wick, the attending physician, ordered that an ultrasound be conducted at a lab around the corner the next day and that the results should be received by the afternoon. In the meantime, he prescribed powerful pain meds to control my wife's pain.

We went to the lab at the appointed time early the next morning and were told that that results would be faxed to the clinic before the end of the day. I called the clinic early in the afternoon and was told that the results hadn't arrived, yet. Hours passed and still no call. My curiosity piqued, I drove to the clinic and arrived at around 4:45; I found the clinic was empty of patients so it wasn't busy. I approached the receptionist and asked if the results had been received yet. They hadn't.

"We'll let you know when they arrive," she said.
"Can't you call the lab to see if they've been faxed?" I asked.
"Welllll, it's the end of the day and the office staff is about to leave so I don't think anyone can help."

First thing the next day I called the lab. They said they had faxed the clinic so I called them.

"No we haven't gotten it, get."
"Shouldn't you call the lab to see if you can get a copy of it?"
"Well, it may have been faxed to the wrong clinic--the doctors revolve in the clinic system so it may not have been sent to this one."
"Can you call the other clinics to see if one of them has it and they, in turn, can fax the results here?"
"No, but try calling the lab again."

So, I called the lab again--the lab said they'd fax the report...again...to the clinic's fax number (which I provided the correct one, just in case.)

Yep, called the clinic again about thirty minutes later. "No, we haven't gotten it, but once we receive it and the nurse and doctor look at it we'll give you a call."

After that, I decided not to deal with them anymore. It must be their corporate policy not to track down or follow-up with lab tests to ensure that they've been transmitted or received. In the meantime, with my wife's worsening condition, I've taken her to the Emregency Room at not-too-distant hospital.

Emergency physicians on staff at Immediate Care

Most of the physicians on staff have excellent experience working and directing emergency rooms. Immediate Care sees minor emergency and walk-in general medicine. I have taken my family many times to the IMMEDIATE CARE CENTERS and have been treated with dignity and a caring staff. Great nurses. Convenient.

EMPLOYEE "WORKER CARE" PROGRAMS

"SPORTS CARE" SPECIALISTS

DRUG TESTING PROGRAMS AND MRO

REFERRALS

PROS: Pros: six centers around north idaho
CONS: Cons: wish it was a full emergency room

The North Idaho Immediate Care Center has several area locations. I've been to a couple different locations and have found all to be about the same. There is usually a long wait both to be checked in and to be seen as well. They are over-priced in my opinion and the care is mediocre. I only go there if all other options are closed and have failed.

The North Idaho Immediate Center has wonderful hours of operation and fairly decent staff on hand. However, I find that the waits are VERY long - even if there is noone else in there.
