My dog was diagnosed with hypothyroidism, and the vet prescribed twice as much medication as what he needed! My poor dog was bouncing off the walls. When I called the vet to discuss the matter with him and to see about getting the right amount of medication for my dog, I could not get him to return my call. The office staff was very rude to me, and informed me he had my message and would call. After 3 days of no return call, I finally resorted to calling our former vet in Missouri, faxing over our dogs blood work to him, and getting the correct dosage of medication for him! I decided to give this vet another chance, but once again, no return phone calls! I actually had to go down to the office and sit in the waiting room to try and get my other dogs lab results. I finally got another vet in the office to talk to me, but it was just too late at that point. I felt I had given this vets office enough chances, and promptly switched to another vet in town where my dogs have had excellent care. My dogs are special needs cases and I just can't have these types of mistakes made time and time again! I also found the cost of meds at this vets office to be very high. Their cost for my dogs medication was three times higher than at another vets office -- same medication, number amount, etc.
