Kids Can Be Kids is an awesome daycare! My son means the world to me and after checking out many daycares in Twin Falls, I decided on this one. I am so happy I made this decision. All of the staff members are very caring, patient, and friendly. The owner Chris is wonderful and runs a great daycare. She loves the children. She always talks to me when she sees me and she is available if I need to talk. She loves my son and treats him like her own. It makes going to work easier knowing that my son is happy and well taken care of.

I am a proud parent of twin four year-olds, a Child Development Specialist, and a Kindergarten teacher in the Twin Falls School District. My children have attended Kids Can Be Kids (KCBK) Daycare and Preschool for the past year.

First, let it be known that i have been, and continue to be, extremely happy with the care my children receive from the staff at this fine facility. The teachers are nurturing, organized, and do a wonderful job of preparing young children for the rigors of Kindergarten and life (socially, emotionally, and academically). Too often, the children I see everyday who have attended other daycares and preschools in the area have no idea how to play respecfully with other children or problem-solve when there are disagreements. They lack the self-confidence to enter into play situations or share their feelings with others. This is not the case of children at KCBK. The staff works with the children to teach them how to behave rather than solve the problem for them. This does not come from a lack of supervision. Rather, it comes from appropriate distance and well timed intervention.

Secondly, I do not trust my children with just anybody. Before taking my children to KCBK, I thoroughly checked out the facility and the staff as well as those in numerous other facilities in town. I dropped in, unannounced, spoke extensively with Chris, the owner, and determined that this was a fun, safe, and nurturing environment for my children to stay and learn. Young children, as everyone knows, play hard and get hurt sometimes. I have witnessed children getting hurt right in front of a teacher, myself included, when there was absolutely nothing the adult could do to prevent the accident from happening. When my own children have gotten hurt, I was always notified and the situation was explained in detail. These stories were corroborated by my children. Chris is very conscientious about making sure that her ratios are kept at safe levels and that her staff knows what is going on around them. Yes, some of the staff at KCBK are young and have things to learn. They are, however, always supervised by an adult and are all mature individuals with a love of children. A loving, nurturing environment for children to learn in is hard to find. KCBK has that kind of environment.

Please use your own eyes and expert common sense. I am sure, if you do, you will find that Kids Can Be Kids is a top-notch child care facility that our town should be proud to have and support.

My daughter is currently enrolled at Kids Can Be Kids Preschool and has been there through this school year. I'm a working mom who has been through a couple of day cares and babysitters. I feel most comfortable with the discipline and learning atmosphere that Chris Dunn and her staff provide for my daughter.

When my daughter began going to Kids Can Be Kids she had a few bad habits that the other day care providers allowed to develop like foul language and striking out to name a few. The discipline that was being taught at home was not being enforced by the other day care proviers and I found myself constantly having to be the heavy hand in the raising of my daughter and not able to guide her in the other lessons that need to be taught in the early years. After moving my daughet to Kids Can Be Kids I noticed major positive changes in her actions and attitude. She no longer displays the bad habits from her previous day care, and she listens and is eager to learn. She is wonderful to be around and I am no longer afraid of how she will act in public when she is having a bad day. While out in public I have had several adults (young and old) tell me how wonderful she is to be around and they are shocked when they find out her age. Prior to Kids Can Be Kids this was not a common occurence and I found myself making plans around my daughters moods rather than fighting with her to accomplish the daily chores.

The staff at Kids Can Be Kids is wonderful to work with and has a great way of teaching the lessons that need to be taught in the early years. I have dropped in unannounced on several occasions to observe the events taking place. Each and every time that I have been there the children are well behaved and there is not a sense of fear or tension in the air. The noise level during the lessons or active play is not out of hand and there is always something positivie going on with the children (story reading, active playing, singing, nap time and such). Hitting, biting, and other negative actions are not allowed and corrected quickly. Time outs are enforced in a positive way, allowing the child to learn right from wrong without being afraid to test the boundary.

I feel that the staff to child ratio is always well within the state recommended range and that my child is not in any danger at any time. Young children need positive reinforcement and I feel that Kids Can Be Kids provides this in every way. Having had the earlier experiences with child care providers lacking this skill, I feel confident in my choice for my daughter's early development and how this will effect her as she matures in to a young lady.

You may find yourself thinking that I put too much responsibility on others to mold my child. I feel, however, that it takes a community to raise a healthy child. My daughter has several influences in her life that affect how she acts and who she is as her own person. Kids Can Be Kids is a safe, positive, loving environment for young children to learn and nurture skills that are needed in society.

The foundation we start with will affect the lessons in our life and the base from which we grow. If the foundation is strong from the beginning it is hard to falter when life throws you the curve.

Chris and her staff are very important people in the life and development of my daughter, without them I would not be able to support my family and grow with my daughter in such a positive manner. Because of the positive impact on my daughter since attending Kids Can Be Kids, I no longer feel like I'm the heavy hand disciplinary parent and I'm able to enjoy spending quality time with my daughter without having to constantly be nagging on her to act properly.

For those who feel that Kids Can Be Kids is not staffed or structured in a positive manner needs only to observe the actions/attitudes and atmosphere of other preschool/daycare facilities to notice how much a difference there is in a well staffed and positive environment like that found at this one. Having had several experiences in other day care situations I know for a fact that Kids Can Be Kids is a great place to be.

DO NOT USE THIS DAY CARE! I have never been so disappointed and treated so disrespectful then by the owner of this daycare. My kids begged to never go to this place again and I should have listened a lot earler than I did. It took me until my oldest went there during the summer to realize what a horrible place this is. I would not trust Chris or any of her staff with any of my children. My kids are my life and the fact I trusted a person such as Chris with them breaks my heart. You don't have to take my word for it either. Check around, I spoke to several daycares after removing my and not one of them had a good thing to say about Chris or her daycare. To support this......any other daycare in this area has a waiting list to get into but yet this daycare is begging for people to send new kids her way. She also gets so desperate to earn money that she charges ridiculous and uncalled for "fees" that are never explained and can't be backed up. And she is so afraid of confrontation that she hids or avoids parents when they come in but then leaves rude and unprofessional notes on their children's check out sheets for everyone to read. Who runs a business like this? Please think twice or even ten times before taking your kids to this place. There are so many other WONDERFUL daycaresin this area, to settle when it comes to something as important as your children, I shouldn't have!

I just wanted people to know that this daycare is not as mention before the worst in town. I am the mother of the child that supposedly choked on a piece of candy and was hospitalized. This in fact is not entirely true! My daughter choked on a goldfish cracker! A food that many children eat and it was probably brought to the center by a parent for treat day! I do not blame Chris or her staff because this is something that could have happened anywhere, including our own home! The staff notified me immediately that she had choked and that she was not feeling well. I took her to the doctor and it was taken care of. Chris and her staff were very concerned and showed sympathy and compassion even though it was not there FAULT. I don't feel that it is fair for someone to judge this center based on something that doesn't even have all the facts, and I don't appreciate someone who does not know my family talking about them on the internet to make a daycare look bad. Chris and her staff take great care of the children. I feel safe dropping my children off every day knowing that they are being taken care of. My children have been going to this center for 2 years and will continue going until they are in school. Chris and her staff are amazing and are great with kids!!! As for the sick kids going to school, I feel that is the parents fault not Chris, parents are the ones dropping the kids off knowing they are not well. Any time that my children have been sick at school I am called immediately. One more thing anytime my child is hurt or hurts someone else there is always a bandaid report or a discipline report. So thank you to Chris and her staff for taking such good care of my girls. I will always be grateful for the love and all that they have learned from all of you. THANK YOU!!!

this daycare could possibly be the worst of its kind. the owner allows very sick children to attend and does not notify parents of illnessess, worst daycare i have taken my child to. the staff does not pay attention to the children, one incident that happened while my child was there was an infant was given candy and not supervised she choked on it and then inhaled it into her lung, in result the child was hospitalized and went through surgery to remove it. In the end the owner did not attempt to pay for her employees wrong doings. BEWARE!!!!!!!! owner is a real piece of work.
