I recently moved to Boise and bought a new truck. I did some searching for a shop to purchase and have installed some accessories that I wanted to add to my truck. Buck's seemed to be an ok place. They had been in business for a long time, seemed to be popular and able to get what I needed.

I gave them a deposit on a roll top bed cover and waited for it to come in. I then set an appointment to have it installed. After the install, I brought the truck home and started to check the cover out more thoroughly. I noticed that the cover did not fit the bed properlyl. I contacted the manufacturer and found that the manufacture had not adapted the cover to fit the newer trucks properly. I was told to return it where I had purchased it. I then contacted Buck's and this is where the nightmare begins.

Jeff "Guido" Henslee, the guy the owners pushed me off on told me that they had done nothing wrong on their end and that they had ordered the correct part numbers so, it was not their problem. If I wanted to get a refund, I would have to get a "RMA" # from the manufacturer myself, and then he would take it back. I spent about two weeks getting that # and then called Guido with the result. He said he would have to call the "warehouse" with the RMA# and would get back with me.." Well, a few weeks went by and I had not heard from him so I called, and he said he was still waiting to hear back from the "warehouse" and there was nothing he could but, would call me when he heard something.

A few weeks later the same thing occurred: I call him and he says that he is still waiting. This was 6 weeks after getting the cover installed. I called the manufacturer and asked for help, they could not believe the cover was still on my truck and that nothing had been done since he had given me the RMA# over a month ago. My contact at the manufacturer, also made some calls and finally, Guido calls me and says to bring in the truck and they would return the cover BUT,would not give me a refund until he had received his money back.

Approximately at the 2 month mark, I have no resolution and no refund. At this point I am being bounced back and forth from Buck's and the manufacturer...Guido will NOT release my money nor offer me another product in exchange.

Fast forward to the 3 month mark...and many calls! The manufacturer has FINALLY received the cover, and is issuing a credit. Discovering this I called Guido, wanting to know when I will get my refund. He states that I must wait until he has the credit in his hand!

It is now month #4...he states that he is STILL waiting on the credit from the infamous warehouse! He will let me know when he gets it. I am beyond frustrated and angry... What kind of company makes you do your own returns and waits to give you a refund for over 4 months? This is ridiculous and I am forced to file a complaint with the BBB and contemplating a small claims suit. BTW, Guido stated that when he does pay me my refund it will be minus the $160 of installation charges! I cannot believe how poorly this company has treated this situation.

This all started 5/27/2010 and as of 9/29/2010 I have no bed cover and am out $1545.00

When I moved to Boise several years ago I noticed that all the cool 4x4's in town all had a Buck's sticker in the back windshield. That is what got me into the store in the first place. The reason I keep going back is the expertise of the staff and ultimately the sweetness of the end product. I have taken two of my rigs in for some major overhaulin' and have no complaints (except for cost, although it is competitive and totally worth it). Even if you think you are content with your 4x4 as is came from the factory Buck's will surely change your mind ...and blow it too!
