Doors Closed - About time

by Jenna M.

OK gym until you move. They would not let me cancel my membership because there was another reciprocal gym offering similar services. Well if similar services is no evening classes and no day care then ya I guess so. I went so far as to retain a lawyer.. still no go. Well look at whats happened.. Closed there doors. Are they still going to demand my payments and send me to a credit agency if I dont pay?

Great Gym, but closed

by B H.

Great gym, very sorry to see it closed its doors due to the current economic conditions. CDA Athletic Club has opened its doors to former NIF members with waived start up fees.

Great Gym

by A B.

I have been a member at many different gyms, and this gym has been my best experience yet. The staff has been very personal, they even know my name! Which is a rare thing to find in the larger more impersonal facilities. I have never had to wait to get onto cardio equipment; I love the smaller more professional group exercise classes; and the people that work out at North Idaho Fitness are friendly, not snobby or rude. This kind of positive atmosphere encourages me to come in and keep up with my workout routine. The facility is very clean and has all the equipment I need. I have been a member here for many years. It is a great gym and the prices are right.

dont do it

by mrs butters g.

If you think that $23 a month is a good deal for a gym membership think again. This place screwed me. I moved 1200 miles away and sent my money order with my energy bill because the owner told me that was all he needed to cancel my membership. It has been over 5 months now and still the man claims that the people that do his books didn't get all my information. I've called him numerous times and either he tells me he will call me back and see what he can do about the fees reversed. Well what do you know hes still charging me. I recommend never joining this gym for it is a distressing and financially insecure investment.

Great support

by Les H.

I have been a member of the North Idaho fitness since August. I have found the facilities be meet my needs completely. I am using a personal trainer and he has helped me immensely. I am losing weight and I owe it to the gym and its staff.

The owner has provided me great support and encouragement during my membership. He has gone the extra mile to help me even reaching out to help me with snow removal while I was away on vacation. This is the kind of support you can get from the staff at North Idaho Fitness. It seems we are truly family at this small intimate athletic facility.

I am extremely happy with my membership.

Worst gym membership I've ever had

by idahogirl 7.

At a glance, this gym seemed ok. However, once I actually took the bait and invested in a membership, I was really disappointed. The machines are indeed older, but the staff's unwillingness to assist me in understanding how to operate the equipment far outshined the outdated equipment. I did receive the initial walk-through instruction, but on subsequent visits when I had questions, I received little to no instruction. I even was told to look on the machine and was rudely turned away from. The owner, who had seemed quite charismatic upon my first visit, appeared to have an abrupt turn in attitude whenever I had questions. When I moved and needed to cancel my membership, he was completely rude and belligerent, refusing to cancel my membership. In fact, I had to fight for their company with months before the charges were ever removed. It was exhausting and I felt very taken advantage of. Both previously and subsequently to this experience, I've had gym memberships. Never have I ever encountered any experiences this poor. I would highly recommend looking looking towards a more well-known established gym, like Gold's or Ironwood Athletic. You may pay a bit more, but it's worth the peace of mind and quality facilities in my book.

I accidentally double posted my review below. New to reviewing and not sure whether I can delete one, there doesn't seem to be an option to do that, thanks!

Very unsatisfactory

by M S.

If you are considering a gym please keep looking. The owner is, as noted in a previous comment, a little too proud of himself and I am being nice. I felt that the instructors were a little cocky and unprofessional. I have been a gym goer for many years and this this has been the worst gym, I wouldn't even rate it. There are so many other great gyms, so please keep searching.

Not worth the money

by P A.

Very small gym.
Older equipment, specially the spin bikes. Instructors are boring and not too competent. Owner is a little too proud of himself. No step classes and the group fitness class room is too small.

Great Club

by Anonymous

Very clean,The group X classes are great. The staff made me feel welcomed and the 3 free personal training sessions I got with my membership helped me understand how I could reach my goals. I would recommend this club to friends. The club was remodeled, expanded and new equipment in 2007.

small

by Bridget A. | top100 Top100 | Rank: 9

The gym is rather small with a very limited amount of weights and exercise equipment. They have a nice variety of different machines, but there is not nearly enough in my opinion. They don't have very accomodating hours of operation either.
