I was looking for a specific type and color of Subaru and I found what I was looking for online at Ambassador Subaru. I emailed Colin to let him know I was interested but that I couldn't come test drive for a couple weeks. He was very responsive in keeping in touch with me until I could make it down. Letting me know that they still had the car or that someone was interested in it. I had a great test drive and am now the proud owner of my 6th Subaru.

I've been to Ambassador Subaru twice and will never be going back for anything. The first visit (a few years ago when I first moved into town) resulted in being over-charged for a simple lube and filter change. The mechanic also read off a list of things that "needed" to be fixed including the entire windshield because of a small crack at the very bottom (in the line-of-sight to the back of the hood), a new battery (of which I replaced 4-5 years later) and I'm almost certain they removed my cabin air filter so that I would have to bring in my car again to get it replaced. 4 years later I decided to try them again when they sent me a coupon that advertised a lube and filter change for $12.99, down from $44.99 ($32 discount). I set up an appointment and when I brought the car in I asked the service manager about routinely having to add oil every several weeks ever since I switched to a full synthetic 2 years ago. He quoted that a full synthetic oil change would run $80 and we eventually agreed that the best idea would be to return to the synthetic blend (which is what I had been using when I first bought the car and never had any problems with) and that it would be cheaper. When I returned to pick up my car, the cashier charged me $55 even after the coupon, which was a total savings of just over $20.
I haven't had any (good, bad, or otherwise) experience with the sales team, but I can say, with 100% confidence, that I will NEVER be returning to Ambassador Subaru, nor will I recommend that others have their cars serviced there.

I went to Ambassador Subaru to buy a Subaru. I ended up buying one and thought that I got a pretty good deal. As it turns out I didn't. The engine was leaking oil and after I brought it in for them to check it they told me my "used car warranty" was up and that it was going to cost a little over 1,000 dollars to fix it. The service manager was very rude during this whole process and I will never go back there again. I ended up going to Pullman auto service and they fixed it for almost half the price.

We purchased our beloved Outback from Ambassador and enjoyed the car buying experience. Our warranty covered work by a certified Subaru mechanic so we chose to take our car back for oil changes and any work needed.
We quickly discovered that the sales dept and service dept are not equal in quality of service. The service manager would tell me we had to X,Y, & Z to our car right away or we would be incurring major damage. I would have my husband come to the shop and they would tell him a totally different story. The stereotypical scam of trying to get women to pay more for auto service was very apparent. This happened at least three different times.
Our check engine light came on so I called to ask what the cause could be. They told me that I probably "didn't know how to put a gas cap on". I checked the cap (it was fine) and took it in. They charged me $30 to tighten the gas cap and turn off the check engine light.
My husband brought it in the next time and they looked into other causes and worked with him on a couple of solutions. When nothing suggested worked we realized that it needed to have the gas line checked.
Against our gut feeling we took the car back, having the brakes, gas line, and a/c fixed (~$500 of work). We went to pick the car up and I noticed a 9" long, 2" deep dent in the passenger door. They refused to apologize for the damage, although the yellow paint on our white car matched the paint on the jacks in their shop.
Currently our Outback is in an auto body shop in town and Ambassador is paying for $1,000 of damage, but they are still unwilling to admit that the dent happened in their shop or apologize for it.
From now on, we will be going to Lewiston or Spokane for future work.

These people are nice. Not the high sales pitch kind. They have probably the largest selection of used cars in Moscow, though prices seem a bit higher. They also have car rental business. It is very nice to have this rental in moscow, since all national car rentals like hertz, dollar etc only have services at the regional airport. It is convenient to have their rental within the city of moscow, though they don't have coupons etc to offer.

There are very few car rental places within Moscow city limits- but this one is definitely a good one. The rental counter is located past all the car sales people. The only drawback is that it is slightly more expensive than the Airport or Lewiston rental places. It is more convenient, however, and I find that work the price.
