My 89 yr. old mother had the front fender of her car hit in the Fred Meyer parking lot recently. The people at Lake City Auto body were kind enough to pick up her car at her residence and return it to her residence when they had finished the work, in a very timely manner. My mother is extremely pleased with the quality of work that was done. Thank you so much Lake City Auto Body!

I took my car to Lake City Auto body because it was recommened to me by my insurance company. I was told the repair would take about 1.5 weeks, but they would call me to confirm after the first day. The first week went by and I never heard from them. I finally called and they said it would be ready the following Wednesday. I called Wednesday morning and was told Thursday, and so on, and so on. They NEVER called me to keep my updated and my car was not ready until the following Monday, 15 days after I brought it in!!! I came to pick it up with my husbands credit card (which I am on the account of), he was out of town for work, and they told me it was illegal to take it. I had my husband call to talk to them and give them his credit card over the phone; they told me that was illegal as well (if that's the case how do you order clothes from catalogs or make hotel reservations)?? Needless to say, I had to leave my car there and wait for my husband to return to town before I could pick up my car. I would never recommend Lake City Auto Body, they are rude and inconsiderate.

Although I didn't have auto body work done by Lake City Auto Body because we decided not to restore our car, I was delighted by their helpful advice that saved me money, their kind customer service (John), and their prompt return of my phone calls and requests for faxes. I would definitely return to their shop to do business again.

Thus far, a six day estimated repair job has turned into a nine day repair job. First Friday was the possible completion day (it went in on Monday); then it became the following Tuesday; then Tuesday, possibly Wednesday. After calling to check the progress, definitely late Tuesday or early Wednesday- mid afternoon. After calling Wednesday at 3:00pm (not really mid afternoon) still not quite ready but should be completed by 4:30. When they called me back at 4:00 (the first time they ever called) still not ready but definitely mid morning Thursday.Unforeseen issues can arise with any repair job; what places their performance in the (very?) poor category is their lack of contacting the customer and letting them know there have been issues/delays- instead, the customer has to call them and even then the information seems to be pulled out of thin air. I would expect that a company in business as long as they have would have a better handle on estimating completion times- not missing by 50% or more.As stated in the title, their work may be very good, but their customer communication and commitment dates are anything but.

Everytime i go here they prove again and again that they're one of the best places around. Everyone here knows their job backwards and forwards and they've always been so nice to me and never rude. They work on Japanese cars and American cars so whatever you got they can work on it which is nice. Because they work on so many models and have good prices they do get very busy. The mechanics here are good and honest and give some great estimates which is hard to find in this day and age especially ones that won't scam you. My best advice is to call ahead and make an appointment and whenever i've done that i've always gotten my car back quickly.

PROS: honest mechanics - never rude
CONS: call ahead for appointment
