I work at Telco, and am concerned about your lamp purchase. We try to give the best customer service possible, and would like to address your issue.

All of our lamps come with warranties which protect against any new defective issue, and we have no problem exchanging when they are new defective. I do not understand why anyone would tell you that we would not take it back.

If you could please call and ask for the manager here, I would be more than happy to address your complaint or answer any questions you may have.

Thanks,

Shane

We have had two experiences with Telco Electronics. One good and one bad. Our first experience was when we purchased a lamp for our rear projection TV. They had the item in stock and it was cheaper than it would have been if we had ordered it from Toshiba. So that was good.

8 months later we are now replacing that same lamp. (This is due to the crummy Toshiba TV that we own.) Again, they had the lamp in stock. However, when we got home and installed the lamp, it turned out that the newly purchased lamp was also bad (This according to Toshiba Customer Service). When I called Telco to tell them the lamp I just purchased was bad, they said, "We're very sorry, but all sales are final." This lamp has a 6-month warranty and they wouldn't take it back!! So they put the burden on the customer. That's NOT customer service. Thankfully, I called Toshiba and they will replace it directly. But in the future I will not be buying any more products or services from Telco Electronics. I'm better off trying to solve the problem myself.

Incompetence throughout - from the techs who repair by trial and error, to management who lie and make excuses for undue delays. My Samsung big screen television had problems, but I bought the extended warranty. Circuit City contracted with this company. After their initial 2 minute "diagnostic", they determined the problem to be a bad DMD board. Then they sat on the "warranty request" for a week, until I called. They had "authorization" the next day. When they came to install the part, it failed. Now a reorder. They had to get "authorization" again. They took the TV this time to "speed up" the repair - I'd get the set back in perfect working order...someday. A week later, no authorization - until the day after I called. The next week they finally received the part, and were "just about to install it". That part failed too. Then they discovered another bad board that required ordering. Had to wait on authorization again. A week later, no authorization. After I called the warranty company to complain, authorization occurred the next day...coincidence? When I called them to complain about the undue delays in this repair, they proffered excuses about having to wait on the warranty company for authorization, and shipment of parts. Then contradicted two other employees (including the tech)regarding the dates of warranty requests, part orders, and repair status reported to me. When put on the spot about the discrepancies, they had no satisfactory answer. They "didn't know". Quality customer service there. Now into week 7. Still no TV. After this fiasco, can their "repair" really be trusted? Avoid them like the plague.

Telco Electronics has been around for over 20 years. They have a convenient shop for you to drop off your electronics for repair or they make appointments and do housecalls. Although their fees have increased slightly due to the increase in gasoline costs, its still worth it if your 52 inch big screen is on the fritz.
