The location is great because it's close to the mall, Wal-Mart, Petco and many more stores. Most of the staff care about what they do and your problems. The reason I rated the Pine Ridge Apts. so low is due to an ongoing issue I have with the apartment I'm currently residing in. In Dec. 2007 I'm moved from a studio in the complex to the 1 bedroom I'm in now. When I first saw the apt. they were painting. Visually, everything was to my liking.
When I did the first walk through of the 1 bedrm, the carpet was still damp from shampooing. This wasn't the problem. It was the smell of dog urine that bothered me. Only after I mentioned the smell at the walk through did the management say the people before me had a puppy for a "short time".
Having already packed up all my belongings, I was already committed to the move. I went ahead and signed the lease hoping the smell could be cleaned out of the carpet or all of it would be replaced when the weather got warmer.
It is now almost June. The smell is still there and is worse when damp or the heater is turned up. I've been given many excuses as to why the carpet is not being replaced. Some of which are: 1. It's too difficult to replace carpet in an occupied residence and 2. It costs about $1500 dollars.
I have 2 cats but that doesn't mean I like or can even stand the smell of urine. I'm a very clean person and just because my idea of cleanliness is different from other tenants or management doesn't mean I should have to live with it or even move. I really like this location so I don't think I should have to move to get what I want. I don't own a vehicle and where I live is close to work.
One last thing is I have checked around with businessess, family and friends about the estimated cost of replacing my carpet. it shouldn't cost 1500 dollars to replace the carpet in my apt. If a little shoppin around was done, it would not be so costly.
