I think the Village Tavern has great food considering that it is a sports bar. The sandwiches and wraps are delicious and this is a fun place to watch the Bulls or the Hawks.

As usuall THE place for FISH FRY is hard to get into because it is so good and there are only so many seats. Take a look at the parking lot...that gives you a clue about the popularity. The food here is really fantastic. Good sized portions and very friendly service.
They are famous for saturdays PRIME RIB also. Go try it out!

Pros: Fantastic batter fried cod

Cons: Very long waits often

What I remember about this place was comfortable seating, ample amounts of decent bar fare, and a fairly loud decibel level. This does not seem to be a place for reflective thinking while nursing a 15 year old whiskey. We observed customers engaged in enthusiastic, joyful talking while diving into plates of food that would be too much for two people. I also remember the bar stools being packed with guys, and I suspect the draw was the engaging, cute bartenders. Actually, almost all of the staff are attractive girls in their young twenties, and that would be a drag if they were airheads. But they definitely are not. Our server was attentive and polite, kept an eye on us but was not intrusive (we generally don't come across to servers as the type of customers looking to form attachments to waitresses, so we always find it odd when confronted with servers who talk to us like we're therapists). I think the service was much better than the food. Nachos, burgers, etc. Sports bar fare is much the same everywhere. There was nothing spectacular about any of it, other than there was a lot of it. I'll bring earplugs next time I go at night.

I have only tried one item on the menu at this restaurant, the chicken tenders. This is because they were recommended the first time I went and since then, it's the only place I'll go to eat chicken tenders ever again. They are fantastic, and considering how much you get, it's a great value. Just go and try the chicken, and you'll see (taste) what I mean.

Pros: chicken tenders, value
