I will never go back to this place and I would not recommend this restaurant to anyone. There are plenty of good to wonderful places along Rt. 14 in Crystal Lake. Go to one of them, not this place. I had been to this place about 20 years ago and I didn't remember it as being particularly bad, but I went there this last Sunday and compared to other Greek/American 24 hour restaurants, this place is at the low-low end of the spectrum.
Their menu is very short. It's spread over pages, but there really isn't too much on it.
I ordered a featured Baked Chicken item. For $9.25+, there were only two tiny pieces of chicken (cornish game hen sized), dumped over some dressing. A ton of gravy was poured over it. A baked potato came with it. No veggies. A cup of soup was included. No dinner roll or even crackers came with soup. No dessert. For almost $10.00, you would think you'd get a "meal", but that was not the case here.
Service was almost nonexistent. No one was there to seat customers when I came in. When someone did come over, the expression came across that I was a burden to them. Someone was at the register when I left. Girl with long black hair. A witch. All she needed was a pointy hat! No one asked how the meal was. If I needed anything.
I'll never go back and I hope NO ONE goes to this place!

We have had to send back soup because it was not hot. After the third time, we were paying the bill and the owner asked if everything was alright. We mentioned the soup and that it was not the first time it happened and he just laughed. There are a number of rude servers also.

Hi- the owners are probably a very nice family but the food is not good. My husband and I are foodies and tried out dinner items - prime rib and it was only cooked meat - no flavor. Nothing seems homemade except for maybe the desserts. We don't like packaged food so we did not care for the food at all.
However the breakfast is much better and the wait staff is very nice.

We LOVE Around The Clock. My favorite on their menu is the grilled vegetarian sandwich.

Their pies ARE TO DIE FOR. My two favorites, that I highly recommend, are the Carmel Apple and the Triple Berry. YUMMY! The pie crust is just as wonderful as the filling.

Around the Clock is one of the favorite spots among my friends. The place is always clean and welcoming. It is a great place to be from simply grabbing a cup of coffee to having dinner with the family. The food is delicious and the desserts are amazing.

This place is open so much (from 6am to 4am) and the help is consistently quick and reliable. The food is great, their goodies are homemade. Many times you have to wait just for a few minutes to get in because it is so busy. It is that busy for a reason. I also enjoy their homemade soups and breads. Their salad bar is nothing much, but that can be overlooked since everything else is so good. Prices are middle of the road. These ppl know how to cook!

Our family doesn't go out to eat very often, simply because my husband worked as a chef throughout his college years and we all hate to listen to him tell how he'd change the food to make it better. Thankfully, this isn't the case with the Around the Clock Restaurant chain in the Chicago area!

We first heard about how awesome these restaurants are when we moved to the area in 2000. The owner's youngest child was in the same class as one of my children and their teacher didn't waste any time telling me that we simply HAD to visit this establishment. I politely nodded my head and said all the right words, but inside I was thinking, "Yeah, right, I'm going to willingly listen to hubby grouse about how he could make the food better." Of course, my daughter, being the brilliant child that she is, said we could go without Dad just to check it out. I, of course, immediately scheduled a shopping trip that included lunch!

First off, let me say the coffee is absolutely THE BEST that I have ever had in a restaurant! Add to that authentic Greek food or American fare and you've got a winning combination! The chicken salad is a mouth-watering delight, as are all the salads on the menu. My husband raves about their French onion soup and our children, who would never ask for soup at home, always beg me to buy quarts of their creamy chicken noodle soup on the days that it's offered. They don't have to beg for long!

You can't miss with this restaurant; there's something for everyone on the menu, even the most picky eater!
