Meg's Daily Grind

I love it here. everyone is so nice and they have great coffee. the owners have done a great job making sure everyone feels important. i heart megs daily grind!!!

After reading the story about Meg talking to the owners of "the daily grind", I needed to write a response since I along with my daughter Meg stated Meg's in 2001. We had NEVER spoken with the Daily Grind owner in Rockton before, during or after opening our first location on E. Riverside in Rockford. Though rumors circulate about everything--this is the first time I have heard this incorrect one. I am glad someone asked because it is important to correct incorrect information

I heard a story that before it became Meg's Daily Grind, Meg asked the owner of the "Daily Grind" if they would help her learn the business because she also wanted to start a coffee shop. The owner graciously said yes and taught her everything. She then opened her own shop Meg's DAILY GRIND notice the same name. The owner of the original Daily Grind is now out of business and everyone thinks Meg's is great. I personally believe in not biting the hand that feeds you and if this is the type of character Meg truly is, I prefer to spend my money elsewhere. Has anyone else heard this story and is it true?

Personally, I believe this is one of the best coffee shops that I have ever been to. Their workers are always cheerful and great with communicating to their customers. They have fair prices on coffee, but the atmosphere is really why I come back as often as I do.
I would recommend this store for the casual coffee drinker who loves to socialize.

Meg's is a great coffee place if you like to get away from your usual coffee drink! Their iced coffee is great...the mint chocolate is my favorite! They are reasonably price $3-5 dollars for a drink. Usually have great people working for them.

If you're looking for the place where "everybody knows your name" this is it. They have great coffee, tea and "stuff" and the service is out of this world. You can actually watch the morning crowd come in and their drinks are being prepared as they get out of their car! How cool is that? The atmosphere is comfortable and friendly, not a coffee snob place in the slightest. Expect coffee shop prices with small town friendliness.
