Reviews for Bookworks

Ratings_icons Great Stuff

Mike F.

The only store where I could find a copy of '100 Years of Solitude" on the rack. I thought it was a classic? I guess Bookworks thought so too. Wound up with four other titles. Great prices.
Parking lot in back was jammed up and it may be tough to find a street spot in this Wrigleyville locale.
Been meaning to get here for years, sorry I waited.

Ratings_icons Great used book store

Not great if you are looking for a specific book, but wonderful for spending an afternoon browsing the stacks. All books are in good or excellent condition and the price is half or less than the suggested retail.

I've gone to this bookstore for years, they have been in biz a long time. they have a wide variety of used and rare books, and this store is where i have found rare books that i have been wanting. the owner is nice and willing to help you find things. they also sell records and cd's there also. store is jammed packed with stuff...kinda hard to walk through, but it did'nt really bother me as i always find what i am looking for.

Ratings_icons Eclectic mix of books - Fair prices

D. R. | insider_guru Insider Guru | Rank: 1,506

In charming Wrigleyville, this bookstore has reasonable prices on its fine collection of used books. In addition to a fair stock of classic fiction, they have a pretty good amount of non-fiction (philosophy, psychology, history).

They also have a decent collection of records, particularly jazz & classical (both vinyl and CD).

While it's not a warehouse of books & records, it has an impressive amount & quality given the small size of the store.

PROS: nice selection, helpful staff
CONS: Small store - no parking.
