I went there a few weeks ago to get extensions with Tracy one of the worst ideas ever. They looked terrible they looked like spagetti strings seperate just ugly. She mentioned in the consultation that I would need 120 pieces so thats what she supposedly order, when it was all done and tons of cutting and hairspray they looked good when I got home and they settled and no hairspray that's when I noticed they were put in terrible. I've gotten extensions before at another location and loved it but when I went back the lady no longer worked there so that's when I searched around and found Ivana Hair salon I wish I never had. I had my daughter in law count the pieces of hair to find out that only 93 pieces were put in my hair not the 120 they charged me for WOW of course I went back and spoke to Ivana the owner and was refunded back the overcharge showed her my hair and said I want to take it off it looked terrible she wanted to charge me again to take them down I wasnt giving them one more penny I went to another salon paid to take them down to discover they damaged my real hair cutting it, and thinning it out. I was left with much much shorter hair then what I originally had. I was literally crying for days. I would never go back please be warn I wouldnt want this happening to anyone else.

About two months ago, I visited a salon that absolutely butchered and discolored my hair leaving me crying for a week straight and unwilling to leave my home due to such embarrassment. Since life does go on, I wore a hat as much as possible and kept my hair tied up. After venting to a friend about my ??mini-life-crisis,? she recommended Ivana??s and stylist she had been visiting for years, Maria S. She insisted that I would not regret the visit. Well, she was right!! ? While at Ivana??s, Maria S. took a look at my hair, explained the ??recovery process?, and began her work. Throughout my appointment, she lightened my mood and made me feel as if I had known her for years. I truly felt that I was conversing someone who really cared and was glad to help. Once Maria had completed her work, I sat in the chair with a smile from ear to ear. It was amazing how she turned it all around. I actually gave her a big hug at the end! Since my visit, I have received nothing but endless compliments. Thank you Maria S!!!!!!!!!

I had a bridal updo trial with Maria S. I had an appointment right after with Davids Bridal down the street. Maria showed up 25 minutes late, explaining it was the "glenview traffic" and did a rush job with the updo. It looked like a teenager did it.

I will not be back to this salon. Im just glad I figured this out before my bridal party made their appointments.

Today was my second time at this salon. My first experience a couple months ago was great but I wanted to wait for a repeat visit before giving my opinion. The staff was professional and the stylist was wonderful. She spent time talking to me about what I wanted and gave suggestions when I asked. At my first visit I walked in with a botched haircut from my previous salon. I asked what we could do with it and and she explained what she was going to cut and what I needed to grow out. I left looking great but the real test was styling it myself after washing the next day. My hair fell right into place, and looked better than it had in years. So I went back today and saw the same stylist (Maria Spilotro) and I had another great experience. I have no idea what the last reviewer was talking about but it sounds nothing like the place I went to. That reviewer did mention prescription meds in her review and it sounds like she might need hers adjusted.

I dont know, but these other viewers must either be under the influence of alcohol, or jacked up on prescriptions to write such stellar reviews. Seriously. I was looking to try a new salon, just to see if there was some 'bomb' stylist out there..someone really fantastic. My mistake...the grass isnt always greener on the other side!!!

Enter all of these reviews that 'highly recommned' Maria Spillorto. Ha, what a joke. I dont mean that lightly either. Not only did she do a botched haircut, but if she was trying to gain a new client, EVERYTHING she said pushed me away. Unprofessional..read on and you will see why. Maybe all the reviews were done by little old ladies, because that was the extent of the clientele I saw at Ivana Di Piero Salon.

I get there, and a stylist with 2 cross bandaids on her face greets me. She promptly introduced Maria to me with no wait. Fantastic. The salon itself was looked clean, smelled great, and had a cool little waiting area. I get in the chair and show her a picture of what I want done- basically and all over color, and a chunk of highlite in the front...similar to Doria on Jerseylicious. She assesss my hair and recommends due to "all the colors running through my hair" (I had just 2, a light brown and dark brown from a tinted box mix I did at home), that we do one color. Im not feeling it, I wanted some color. She we talk and she agrees to do partial hilights, and trim me up. I mentioned I wanted side swept bangs, on the longer side. Ok, great.

She goes to mix the color. She comes back, and abruptly asks me "how old are you"? I was taken aback, as this is a woman Ive just met. Now, unless I look 18, or 21, thats a question you just dont ask someone you have just met (Im 30). Rude. I answered her though, but that was strike one. She starts the foils, and keeps telling me how damaged my hair is, and what is going on with my hair, bla bla. Ok lady, I get the point. I did my own hair, screwed it up a little, just shut your pie hole and do what Im paying you to do. Are you trying to gain a client or have so many you dont give a hoot? I doubt it. Strike 2.

I asked her about prices, because 1, they have no website. And two, apparently they have no price lists either!! (Note to receptionist you can create one on any computer, Id be happy to train you). I even asked the receptionist if they had a price list while I was sitting with the foils in and she goes "no". ??

We get to the rinsing, and the color came out, meh. But I wasnt expecting miracles; I knew that this was a new stylist who obviously didnt have an extensive history on what Ive done with my hair, just what I told her. Im getting rinsed, and Maria is standing there. It was a bit hard to hear, and she goes "You have really Bad hair". Pardon me? She repeated herself. I think even the shampoo girl was taken aback this woman had just told me I had "BAD" hair. It wasnt bad, the color wasnt 'bad' it wasnt falling out, maybe you just need to go back to beauty school. It was the way she said it to, very snooty-Ive got 17 years experience-. Such etiquette. Strike 3.

Were in the chair, and shes cutting away at my hair. Her trim, on a scale of 1-10 was a 4. I wanted long side swept bangs, and just 1/2 inch off overall. She chopped 2 inches! Even people at my work are like you got it cut short. But, she kept going on how my hair was so damaged, and she had to cut off what she did. I even tried to like this woman- I really did- after she finished, I asked her next time, (since my hair would be in somewhat better conditon!) could we get it closer to the picture...she just kept yacking that she would do a toner next time. Do I need to keep going?

In short, this woman was A) Definately not up on the latest trends B) Rude and unprofessional, even started to question me on my job after I asked about prices, as if my check was going to bounce lol! and C) kept trying to talk me out of what I wanted done to my hair, which was SIMPLE!!! She seemed to want to argue, I dont know if it was the Italian in her or what. Ick. I will never go back to her, or refer anyone. Maria was rude, and her tip reflected her service to me.

You feel like family when you go to this salon! Ivana always takes her time and talks to you about what you want done. She really seems like she enjoys her work and never makes you feel unwelcomed or rushed. Its also nice that she gives back to the community.

This is a great salon! Ive been getting my hair done by Maria S. for years now and I must say, I have never met a person so dedicated to her work and so willing to go the extra mile for her clients. She is truly an amazing person/stylist. Maria wont let you leave the chair until you look perfect! I get so many complements on my hair every time I get it done. So if you want to look like a million bucks go to Maria, shes the best! I absolutely love her!!

This is the best salon! I have been going to Maria for 12 years now.
She's awesome, perfection. I always walk out looking like a rock star. All the women at this salon are wonderful at their craft.
They are ahead of the game with the latest trends and styles.
I have been to salons downtown, they are robotic stylists. At Ivana the are good caring people who take pride in their work.

I am a regular client at Ivana Di Piero Hair Studio, and am extremely content with all the services I have received. I do not understand how any negative connotations can be made on the salon, services or stylists. The stylists are some of the best in the hair business and not only do they care about satisfying you as a customer, but they care about you personally as well. They will do whatever it takes to make sure that you are satisfied and feel pleased about yourself. You become like a family member to these beautiful, heart felt women with the most amazing personalities. The stylists are constantly searching for the newest trends in hair fashion and are always trying to better themselves, when they do not even need to get any better because they are already as close to perfection as perfection can be. Whether it is an updo, color/highlights, or haircut you will walk out feeling better about yourself and not feeling guilty for paying too much to do so. The prices for each service are nothing compared to other salons. A $40 dollar haircut that you receive at Ivana's looks better than a $100 haircut at any other salon. I cannot express my happiness with the salon and its wonderful stylists enough and will never ever "not go back"!!! Calling in advance is recommended since the salon is always packed, which is proof of how truly amazing it is!

I would have to strongly disagree with the comment of not going back. Everyone at the salon is very nice and extremely accommodating. I find all the stylist to be friendly and outgoing. Whenever I leave I am happy with my hair cut or updo or whatever I have done and I always get compliments on my hair from everyone. I have recommended Ivana's to all my friends and family and so far they have been happy too.

The salon is nice and clean. I visited the salon about twice. The first time Lea was my stylist. She looked like she didn't know what she was doing....A couple months later I tried again with Tina..she did ok...but I won't go back. The hairstylists and the owner seem snotty. I didn't feel welcomed.

This salon is a very excellent Italian Hair salon. I have been getting my hair (highlighted/cut/updo's) done here for nearly six years. My stylist is Maria. she is a sweetheart and is excellent at her job. She even came in early(around 8am for me) to blow dry and style my hair for my graduation pictures even though she just had a death in her family the night before. She is a dedicated hardworker..Her sister, Ivana, is the owner. Everyone is very warm and sweet here. I wouldnt recomend getting my nails done there but the other service is amazing. A haircut is about $30, updo's are around $60 and the foils are about $80 depending on the colors.. . If you are looking for a new hair do definitely give ivanas a try. They are usually booked full so call in advance for special occasions!
