Tried their new sushi menu the other night and it was delicious! Not the mention the price is noticeably lower than other sushi restaurant around the area, would definitely recommend this restaurant for sushi.??

It was nice to finally find a Chinese restaurant that stands out. The service was perfect and helpful through their many menu options. I am a Kung Pao Chicken fanatic and cannot find many placed that do it right. Spicy!! No doubt about it, and full of flavor. Huge, lean and moist chicken, fried rice was done right and the Hot and Sour Soup topped off the good meal.

Trust me on this one, if you have the Chinese food craving, stop in for a great meal at a reasonable price.

The manager and wait staff at this restaurant was awful. I had hair in my rice and was questioned on the tip I left by the waiter.

Absolutely fake Chinese food. Restaurant should have been a take out place. Cooks are uncreative in their cuisine. Cantonese cooks trying to emulate Szechuan cuisine without formal training. A stir fry dish is labeled Szechuan just because they put hot chili peppers in it. Not a restaurant to experience if you are looking for authentic flavor and cooking methods of the regions of Szechuan or Beijing.

Owner does seem arrogant and uninviting. He has that aura of your just another customer and just give me your money. I think the lack of good communication between the owner and the cooks provides the uninspired food. Just making money off people who don't know what real chinese food is.

An okay restaurant for people who only think what they're getting is real and authentic. Edible just like Panda Express. Nothing special.

Pros: Decor, Chinese artwork

Cons: Food

It is often a mixed bag when you try a new Chinese restaurant, since the food and standards vary so greatly. This place has consistently excellent quality food. Many of the dishes are as you have come to expect. For instance, the fried rice has peas, carrots and eggs. You'd be surprised how many restaurants do not consistently offer these in their fried rice dishes. The cuts of meat are excellent, not 2nd rate or lower quality meat as at other places. We love to eat in the dining room and see our meals being cooked or take our children to visit the large fish tank or watch tv to keep them busy so we can have a relaxed meal. The service is fast, friendly and will cater to your requests or needs. Would highly recommend this place to others.

The service was slow and the people seemed disorganized. The food was greasy and not much beyond that for taste. I also wouldn't recommend this because the price. It was also outragous for the quality of the food. Fast food Chinese is better than this. There are a lot of good resturants in Chicagoland, this isn't one of them. Your best best is to visit of of the other area resturants.

I like to think of myself as a Chinese food connoisseur and I thought that there were plenty of dishes on the menu that refelct an authentic style of food. Authenic enough to keep me coming back to try new things.

Although non-authentic, the Egg Foo Young is made fresh to order and delicious! There are a variety of dishes on the menu that have a lot of flavor. Some dishes are better than others. You can't go wrong with any Fried Rice, Fried Noodle or Chow Fun noodle; Potstickers; Mongolian Beef; Governor's Chicken; Beijing Duck; Steamed Fish; Mu Shu, and the list goes on...

I do have to say, I was a little upset to see a White waiter (...I don't know why, but I think that it takes away from the Chinese food experience), but as it turns out, he is just as Chinese as them--speaking Mandarin with both the front of the house and the kitchen!

The party room in the back has a massive fish tank with adorable fish. Over the P.A. plays iconic 'Chinese Restaurant Music'-- You know... Karaoke Pop remixes as well asthose timeless classics from the Seventies with a little Asian flair.

It's a good place and it's a shame that people might not know about it, all tucked away behind the EL tracks. Just as good... when I have it delivered, it comes pretty timely... one time in fifteen minutes!

On the downside, there's no re-fills (except for Iced Tea), there is a charge if you want extra rice, hot tea, and there is a %15 mandatory tip (Although I don't tknow if they enforce it).

Szechwan Beijing has the most incredible Chinese food I have ever eaten. If you want real authentic Asian foods, come to Szechwan Beijing. The staff is incredibly nice and accommodating. Service is excellent. All around an excellent Chinese restaurant. Very accessible by public transportation.

I have ordered from this restaurant on several occasions, but will never do so again. The food was passable, and the prices were reasonable (although on the high side for Chinese). The owner and his son, however, are arrogant and difficult, and absolutely awful to deal with. The time before last, when I ordered, the person who took the order apparently wrote my credit card number down wrong, because the owner, whose English is not all that good, called me back and berated me for intentionally giving him a credit card number that I knew was wrong. When I tried to tell him he had the number wrong (there was plenty of availability - I used the card the next day with no problem), he insisted that I give him another card number, and was nothing short of rude, saying I had tried to cheat hm. The last time I tried to order, I got the son. He told me that because I had placed a pickup order and never shown up, they would not deliver to me and I had to come and order in person. I have never placed a pickup order at their restaurant, or any other restaurant, in my entire life! We always either eat at the restaurant, or have it delivered. Ordering food and then having to go and get it is just not worth the trouble! And neither is this restaurant. There are plenty of places to eat where the owners appreciate their customers, and treat them with respect. This isn't one of them.

The menu is quite extensive; I had one of the duck dishes and it was great-not greasy but definetely not dry and very flavorful. The atmosphere was comfortable; fancy without being formal. There was also entertainment! There's a huge picture window into the kitchen so you (or your kids) can be entertained while waiting for your meal. Ask about the banquet hall - there's a giant fish in the tank back there (not to be eaten!!) =) We travelled to Oak Park from Palatine and it was WELL Worth the Ride!!

The service here is warm and friendly... when you walk in the door and are greeted by father and son who own the restaurant. I love Chinese food and this will definitely exceed your expectations in terms of the high quality food and mouth-watering flavors. We started out with the exquisite salt and pepper shrimp. We went with a large party and shared many entrees... you will love any entree you try here at Szechwan Beijing!! The best part is you can watch the chefs prepare all these delicious meals through the large windows that look directly into the kitchen. The wide selections of cocktails also set the tone for our evening out with our large group of friends. We loved it and know that you will too!!

I love this place!! The food is absolutely incredible, its different than other chinese restaurants, but its has all the same familiar choices as well as a few new tries, that are just delicious. This is food made from the heart, and the family experience is quite comforting. If that isn't enough the staff and people are so sweet and keep you coming for more. My favorite thing is the crispy shrimp, its is made with these red pepper flakes and this sauce that is sweet and pleasurable, but there is so much more. You must come and see for yourself!! I love chinese food and I am always bummed out when it stinks so when it's this great I make that extra trip out and it is quite affordable, even though I'd pay double....IT'S THAT GOOD!!
Anyways, I have already told all my friends and fam to come and you should too!!
MMM...I think I may have to go this week!

Pros: You can see them make the food, its soo fun, there are party rooms, including karaoke!! woohoo!!

Cons: i just wish there where more...that were closer!!

The name of the restaurant is extremely misleading. They are not making any Beijing or Szechwan dishes! It seems that the owner does not know anything about Chinese food. They believe that Chinese food is nothing more than stir-fry while simply adding hot peppers makes Szechwan dishes. The waitress is arrogant and is not very friendly to everybody. A mandatory 20% tip is unbelievable for such food and service.
pros: clean, the see-through kitchen is interesting
cons: terrible food and service, 20% mandatory tip

This place isn't your typical tiny, bland, takeout restaurant; this restaurant is big, clean, and delicious! The dining room is very clean and the see through kitchen is extremely entertaining. The price is great considering how delicious and huge the portions are. They can even adjust their ingredients to tailor to your own tastes! I suggest the Combination Fried Rice with Bar-B-Que Pork added. Szechwan Beijing is just a wonderful experience overall.

Szechwan beijing overall has been quite an experience. It is very well rounded. The food and service was excellent. If you are planning on visiting oak park or even looking for a place to dine in, this will be the place to go. I had brought my kids in and they loved it. The waiters were especially welcoming. They especially love the aquarium of fish in the back. There is also a window where you could actually see the chefs preparing your food. They give quite a performance with the fire for the kids. Even if you didn't have kids, the restaurant gives you a nice warm romantic feel, surrounded with lit candles. It is one of the best dine in experience I've had in a while.
Like my kids say it, i give it two thumbs up!

Simply the best Chinese food in the Oak Park area. When I first went there, I thought it would be just another run of the mill Chinese joint that dot most neighborhoods..I was really off the mark with that assumption. The size of the entrees are waaaaay generous, enough for 2 people. We had 4 people in our party and we decided to dine family style - and all of us were really impressed with how great the food tasted. I can't remember all the names of the dishes, but it doesn't matter because we all plan on going back again, again and again to try them all. We also tried the Mai Tai - no skimping on the alchol, it was real. This is a definite stop for anyone who wants great food, large portions at a reasonable price and a real family-friendly/relaxed environment - a real Oak Park gem in my opinion.

Plain and simple, Szechwan Beijing was an excellent dining experience! The food and portions were exceptional while being reasonably priced. Additionally, the service and location are commendable. I will definitely return and fell fortunate to have found a diamond in the ruff.

Very great experience...a place where the food is outstanding and the service is very professional. If you live in Oak Park you probably already know that this place is great...but if you are in the western suburbs and or on business you got to get to this place...Awesome...I travelled on business throughout China in the past decade and have eaten at many places in America which claim they prepare Szechwan but fail in their attempts...this place is authentic...and much cheaper than flying back to China...lol

I had a wonderful experience here. My mother was in town for Mother's Day and we were visiting her cousin in Oak Park. There aren't any good Chinese Restaurants back at her home in Missouri, so I was very excited to take her to some place good. I was definately NOT disappointed. Every meal we ordered was tasty. I especially enjoyed the Sesame Chicken. The restaurant was also priced reasonably, which was nice, because I was treating. I will now visit Oak Park more often to eat here.
