I purchased a ring from here not to long ago and their rings are so beautiful and unique. I'm very pleased with my purchase. The owner was friendly and took the time to help me find the perfect ring. This is by far the best jewelry store.

Best Customer Service
by cwalton37
I bought my ring from Craig at H Horwitz ia few years back. I am from Dallas, Texas and whenever there has been a problem with the ring (very rarely), he has taken care of it with no questions asked. My wife and I can't thank him enough for the care he gives the ring. Everytime we get it back it looks prettier than when we sent it. Thaks, Craig.

Incredible service and unbeatable selection
by ScottJackson
Last weekend my fiancee and I went to H. Horwitz to choose an engagement ring and shop for wedding bands. We were greeted cordially and then allowed to browse the cases uninterrupted (read: no pressure) until we were ready to see a few choices first-hand. What ensued was a delightful experience lasting THREE HOURS! Never once did Phyllis, Craig or Lima appear frustrated with our attention to the most minute features of each ring. In fact, they encouraged us to explore each and every facet (no pun intended) of the selection process. They were exceptionally versed in the attributes of each stone that we perused as well.
Needless to say, we purchased the perfect ring--a beautiful, unique ring with an antique European cut stone. It is a lovely statement of our union.
I am looking forward to going back in a few months to select our wedding bands!
Thanks to all that helped. And to those looking for a special shopping experience for a very special event--look no further.
Pros: Great customer service, Knowledgeable staff, +++Selection

Customer service unmatched
by mostrega
I was very confused and undecided when it came to purchasing an engagement ring for my fiance and did not find any jeweler that provided me the guidance I needed. Mr. Craig Horwitz was first-class when it came to customer service and was patient with me as I went back and forth between what type of diamond and band I was going to ultimately purchase.
Mr. Horwitz works with any budget and is among the best in town when it comes to value for your buck. The custom made engagement ring he helped me create was outstanding! H Horwitz Company is undoubtedly the best jeweler in town!! I experienced several unwilling and uninterested jewelers that did not come close when it came to service or price.
I highly recommend H Horwitz Company and my fiance does too after seeing the final product!
Pros: Phenomenal customer service, competitive prices

TRUE CHICAGO CLASS
by taxman555
After going to check out H. Horwitz Jewelers firsthand, it's no wonder why they've been around for 100+ years. A FANTASTIC setting on the professional level (not the mall!) of Water Tower Place in downtown Chicago provides a private, elegant setting, setting their showroom apart from any other noisy crowded jeweler planted in a mall, etc. The staff is more than accommodating, reminiscent of how business used to be before everything was chained and commercialized.
I was in the market for a 2ct. diamond, and Horwitz provided me with the most aggressive pricing to date. They were able to locate diamonds to my specifications from around the world for me. Combine that with the custom process of design that they offer, friendly staff, and a shopping experience of true Chicago class and character, my choice was simple. I recommend this long standing icon of Chicago jewelry to the fullest of my ability.

Amazing quality + Unbeatable prices = Happy Fiance
by BenEll
I went in to speak with Craig Horwitz, not with the anticipation to buy, just look. Being young I wasn't too sure on what to look for in a ring but Craig helped me throughout the entire process. Most jewelers that (my now Fiance) and I went into had the attitude that they smelled "fresh meat in the water" when we walked in the store and jumped all over us trying to make a sale. Craig let me do all the talking and asked me questions when appropriate. I wanted a custom designed ring and he sketched out what I wanted. He let me customize the design, shape, quality, clarity, carrots and metal and then made a wax of what the ring would look like finished so that there would be nothing lost in translation. I was happy with the mold, and apparently Craig was too because he decided to make a duplicate of the design because he thinks I did a great job designing the ring. I waited about a week for the finished product to be completed and when it was I picked it up and brought it back to show all the girls at my work. I got a lot of compliments on what a great job that Craig did making the ring and the great job I did in designing it. Since I gave the ring to my girlfriend she has received many compliments on her ring and could not be happier.
If you are looking for an awesome ring at unbeatable prices I highly suggest you stop by and talk to Craig.
Pros: Great Service, Unbeatable Prices
Cons: none

Poor Customer Service, Major Delays, Huge Disappointment, Avoid this Jeweler
by ReedWaters
My fiance and I were very excited to be getting married and were looking for a jeweler who would custom design a wedding band to fit with our engagement band. We took the ring in and provided a detailed drawing with specific instructions for Craig Horwitz. His attitude was less than enthusiastic and he appeared apathetic, yet we were blinded by our excitement. After giving away the ring to have the mold made, and being told that it would take one week to make the mold, we were left waiting for close to a month (no phone call to explain the delay; no returned calls after repeated inquiries).
The ring came back with the instructions we gave being neglected: the special gem was not included, the shape was incorrect, and Craig made it seem as if we had not explained what we wanted (when it was stated on the order form). We were disappointed, but not dismayed. We continued with the project, only to be repeatedly let down with delays and many unreturned phone calls.
After four months, we were fed up, but we gave the go ahead to make the ring as the wedding date drew closer. Although the metal work was better than their service, the over-all product was not what we had envisioned. We had specifically asked for it to be coated in Rhodium so as to look like white-gold for the wedding (as our budget prevented us from purchasing a brand new white-gold engagement ring), yet it came with no rhodium dip. The instructions were explicitly stated on the order envelope, but not followed. On top of this, the ring took so long to complete that my fiance was without a ring for all but a few weeks of our engagement.
I would highly recommend taking your business to someone who cares about their job, to someone who is interested in tailoring a ring to a customer's desires, budget, and vision. Craig Horwitz did not exude any passion for his job, nor did he seem to remember anything we communicated to him (let alone his own notes). We recommend avoiding this jeweler.
Pros: Convenient location
Cons: Poor customer service, bad communication, apathetic attitude

Worst Follow through and customer service
by dana267
I went in 6 weeks ago to have my wedding rings appraised. I was told that I would receive the appraisal within 2 weeks. After 4 weeks went by I called and left 2 messages and neither was returned. I called and spoke to someone and left a personal message. I spoke with the owner and she promised me last week that the appraisal would be in the mail and to me in a week.
I have not received an appraisal though I paid for it. I am currently trying to get the charges removed from my credit card.

I considered buying on the internet, but found a need to see many diamonds at the same time. Horwitz pricing is eqaul or better than internet and I weas able to see many diamonds at the same time. Bought a 1.29 round and very happy with the custom mounting as well. G. Smyth, Chicago
