Lam Sylvia MD Pediatrics

This doctor is very rough does not care about making your or your baby mad. Rude, inconsiderate and I would never recommend any one take their baby to her. You could do a better job as a parent nursing your child than to have Sylvia Lam be the pediatrician.

If you are looking for warm fuzzies, then this is NOT the place for you. Dr. Lam's bedside manner is minimal at best, BUT she is in my opinion a very good doctor. Old school, to the point, quick and efficient. She was a great back up doctor because I could always get in for an emergency, she was close to home, has pretty good hours and writes prescriptions when I needed them. Once you get to know her she is actually really funny ... if you can get past the gruff non-personal touch in the beginning.

Besides and more importantly than bedside manners noted here in other feedback - think twice before you consider using Dr. Lam. My son has PKU and needed surgery. The Dr. forgot to mark down on his pre-surgery record that he was allergic to pennicillin and did not note his PKU. Thank goodness that I requested a copy before she sent it to the surgical Dr. I was able to make a very important intervention, but I shouldn't have had to. Please keep track for your child's health and best interest - keep records to avoid such situations and chose your Dr.'s wisely. Dr. Lam should not be allowed to practice if she cannot work with people and focus on important details that affect the children's health - she should be there to protect them, not be negligent. She should be stripped of her license. She is a very rude and incompassionate practitioner. A very racist person. No Manners. I brought my daughter to her clinic and she right away dianosed her with scabies without any tests. She shooed us out of her clinic saying that my daughter has scabies germs with no proof and tests. Someone should sue her so she could be without a doctor's license.

Dr. Lam is an excellent pediatrician who cares more about my babies' health than she does about offering "fluff." Other doctors well give you very little advice about your baby's health, simply to get more visits out of you. Dr. Lam does nothing, but offer solid medical treatment and advice. She will tell you how it is and what must be done for your babies health. She does practice medicine rather bluntly, however it's the best service that you can provide for you and your family. She has had 30 years of professional experience and has even been awarded her own day, "Dr. Lam's Day," by the Village of Hoffman Estates for providing excellent medical service to the community...

This is bt far the worst doctor I have seen she never refills my prescriptions returns my calls and her secretaries are ont professional I have asthma a serioyus disease that kills and even in the change of weather and allergey season she is still a horriblile doctor I cant stand her anymore someone needs to get her out of the practice please she just dosent care about her patients

I think this doctor is not from this planet! i do not know what's her problem is, but each time i visited her in the past, she was inexplicably rude and passes ethnic derogatory comments criticizing your lineage among others. with all politeness when one calls her(child running 104F Fever), she will hang up on you, pass comments stating that this happened because of something we did.
This doctor is spoiling the good name of field of medical care. i have seen other doctors before, but she is surprisingly the worst i have seen..not only will i not recommend her to anyone, i am going to write to the American Medical Association that she be 'debarred' from medical practice altogether. she is a bad dream in the feild of pediatrics.

This pediatrician is terrible!! DO NOT go to her. She does not listen to her patients and she is rude and rough. I went here serveral times and was very angered by her attitude and treatment. She should not be practicing!
