Aroma Work Shop

I absolutely adore this store. It is so much fun making your own fragrances here. They have a ton of essential oils and designer fragrances to mix together to make your own personalized perfume, lotion, bubble bath etc. The staff guide you through the process patiently and are extremely helpful and good at answering questions. They also will help you decide which scents go together based on your particular likes and dislikes. Then, when you are all done mixing and have created an aromatic masterpiece you get to name it and they keep what went into your concoction on file, so you can return for it again.

Take your girlfriends here for a fun day or give someone a gift certificate for an unforgettable birthday present.

CONS: parking is tough around this busy neighborhood and the store is small

I went to the Aroma Work Shop for a perfume making class offered by the Discovery Center and it was great. I was able to make my own signature fragrance and left out of there with over $70 more dollars worth of stuff. It was well worth it and not only will I return, but I told my friends.

This is a short review, but what more can I say. This is not "the body shop" this is a new and amazing scent store. I have created some great ones that people always ask about... I say it's "MINE" and they're like, "Who makes that?"... I chuckle and go about my day.

I received a gift certificate fot my birthday to come and here and it was one of the best presents. I really loved being able to create my own lotions, bubble baths, etc. Their staff was very helpful (since I had no idea what I was doing). I have been back a few times since. I recommend this for people who want to do something different. Great place.

I used to go to this place often. My first experiences (in about 1997-98) were great--the owner worked with me to create an excellent fragrance made of many different oils. However, I went to replace the fragrance, and it couldn't be duplicated--they had the ingredients on file, but when the "recipe" was followed it didn't smell the same; I took it back so they could try it again, and it still didn't smell them same. Also, after my first few excellent experiences working with the owner, it seemed that the owner decided to be less hands-on and his other staff worked with me to create the fragrances, and I didn't end up with as good of products as the owner had helped me create. I ended up with one fragrance that was actually awful.

However, this is a cute place, and might be a good idea for a gift certificate for someone. Their atomizers are of excellent quality and I've bought empty ones to use for other things (face sprays, etc.); they never leak.

CONS: Parking, inconsistent quality of service and product
